2024-10-17 05:12:29 +0000 UTCHappy Indiegenous People’s Day (Oct. 14) here in the USA! As a full blooded Native American, it’s a big thing to celebrate today. My grandfather gave me some of his anti-Columbus pins and postcards from his protesting days in the 80/90s and today was the day to wear the pins. My user name “Sitting Bear” is actually part of the translation of my traditional name in my tribe’s language (my family still follows our tribe’s teachings as our religion/way of life.) I even got to spend the day with my little brothers since they got a day off from school. Kinda forgot today was also J&J’s JJK Monday, but I get to unwind with yall now. My little brother and I use to say Mechumaru pre-Mahito-tuneup was like that one guy from Spongebob, the fish who faked “glass bone and paper skin” lol. I remember watching as the episodes were released and I quit watching after a certain part because I remember what was going to happen as a Manga reader. But maybe watching with J&J I’ll be able to finish season 2.

I’ll never be done talking about the hidden inventory/premature death storyline 😭 One thing that I found striking about the Suguru Geto’s fight with Toji and with Yuta is Geto’s cursed spirits. Toji specifically leaves Geto alive after his defeat because of his Cursed Technique, which may cause his cursed spirits that he has captured to rampage upon his death. I realized during one of my rewatches of the movie that the reason this doesn’t happen because Geto used up all of his curses with his Maelstrom attack. I honestly think the reason that Geto used ALL of his cursed spirits up like that was specifically for that reason. He thought that he might lose the battle and he didn’t want to set so many cursed spirits free on the school campus like that. He had no reason to let Maki, Panda, and Toge live when he defeated them, but they would have been helpless to defend themselves against the horde of cursed spirits. That might just by my sympathetic interpretation though because I adore him😭. Also, Yuki has the absolute worst social skills I have ever seen! You mean one of three special grades in the world, basically the top three (four with Yuta) sorcerers, all capable of mass destruction starts talking about genocide and you DON’T raise any alarms? You AGREE with him that it might work??? Ma’am. I’m studying psychology and that’s probably one of the worst possible things she could have done! Give the man a month long vacation, make sure he eats real nutritious food,not just curses (I can’t comprehend how dirty Geto must have felt all the time, eating the literal embodiment of negative human emotions and taking them for himself), and give him an actual support system (lots of therapy too) and he probably would have been just fine. Gojo’s traumatized too he just dealt with it by ignoring the problem and throwing himself into work while it was all Geto could think about. Gojo just kept striving towards getting stronger so he would never be defeated again, he likely blamed himself for Geto’s fall, and believes that if he had never lost, Geto never would have been traumatized at all. They all needed a good therapist and guaranteed time off. Y’all are probably have favorite reactors of all time, I’ve never seen people actually take notes before, and I joined your Patreon (I MADE a Patreon account actually) last week purely because I NEEDED to see your reaction to the hidden inventory/ premature death storyline! Can’t wait for the rest of season 2, it only gets more painful from here! Ps- when Geto is talking to the people who locked the twins in the cage, he unleashes a cursed spirit, which assured them that “it’s all going to be ok” at least in English. Even on the edge of mass murder, he tries to reassure them because he knows how scared they are. He’s extremely empathetic, he just makes a choice right there that non-sorcerers aren’t worth caring about. That’s how I believe he was able to kill his own parents, by delegating non-sorcerers as “monkeys” not actually people. Now to actually talk about the actual episode, my understanding of Mechamaru and Mahito’s relationship was simply using each other. Mechamaru was desperate for a functional body, and the curse squad needed a spy. Neither of them liked or trusted each other, so when the deal was completed, they turned on each other in a second. If Mechamaru can get into contact with Gojo, he can give Goio all the information he’s gathered on the curse squad, including Geto, to him in exchange for protection. The veil, as we know, blocks communication outside, including phone calls or texts, so Mechamaru must escape the veil somehow to contact Gojo. Enjoy that half an episode of the calm before the storm with the first years hanging out, it’s turning into a hurricane now.

2024-10-14 19:59:35 +0000 UTCThe information Mechamaru shared with them was the Intel that allowed them to infiltrate the school during the Kyoto exchange event in Season 1, to steal the school's 6 Sukuna fingers and 3 of the Death Painting Curse Wombs (two of which became the brothers Eso and Kechizu that Yuji and Nobara killed in the Season 1 finale). Mechamaru is upset because part of their deal was that they wouldn't hurt anyone from the Kyoto school. Mahito argues that they didn't break their promise at all, because it was Hanami who attacked the students, not Mahito or Geto. Hanami never made any promises.
