2024-08-30 06:38:30 +0000 UTCsince conjurer usualy conjure object and not entity i always though she was a specialist (also the power of telling the future seems unique to me and specialist are the one with unique ability) but i never bother confirm that until today, so after further reshearch she is indeed a specialist :) Spoiler greed island ahead : that being said i always though Abengane (the nen remover guy in the GA arc) was also a specialist for the same reason (he conjure an entity too and according to Phinks, his removing nen ability is a rarity) but Abengane is a conjurer, so ur take on Neon also make sense, it is weird to me than this 2 poeple belong to different nen categoris x)

2024-08-29 15:36:58 +0000 UTCSo kurapika is still a conjurer, he only turns into a specialist when he has the scarlet eyes, so uvo and chrollo weren't wrong about him being a conjurer. Also, uvo was a true man to the end. Kurapika said that uvo will "scream his lungs out", and the most he did was grunt in pain and cough up blood, and even on his deathbed, uvo was able to keep the location of the rest of the phantom troupe secret, so in a way, uvo was able to protect his family

2024-08-29 02:57:19 +0000 UTCi dont know why you are that excited by specialist but it was a funny reaction, just to be clear, specialist is just an other categoris of nen user who doesnt fall in the usual categoris, a specialist is neither stronger or weeker than someone from an other categoris by default. for exemple you seems to have forgot about Neon since you said Kurapika is our first specialist, but her fortune telling hability dont fall under usual categori so Neon is most likely also a specialist. in an other topic and i think it is important, i dont know why it is translated "mastered" but Kurapika have not "mastered" every nen categori, emperor time allow him to "utilise" 100% of every nen categoris (wich mean if he had mastered one enhancer ability like his healing hability, he will usualy be able to use that ability at 60% of his maximal healing capacity (since he his a conjuror, and conjuror ca only use 60% of enhancer ability max) but in emperor time Kurapika can use 100% of his ability, so he has the capacityl to use every ability he know at 100% regardless the nen categoris they fall into (so utilising 100% of every nen categoris) but that doesnt mean he have "mastered" them all ( Gon as an enhancer can learn and use 100% of enhancer ability but that doesnt mean he have mastered enhanced nen for exemple) as you see Uvo was far ahead Gon when it came to enhancer ability, to my knowlege no one have ever or will ever "mastered" a nen categoris since anyone can always get stronger, and have then own ability. what i mean by that is for exemple Kurapika as a conjurer can only conjure chains, he couldnt conjure the vacum you see Shizuku use, if "mastering" a nen categoris mean be able to use every capacity who belong to said categoris no one would ever be able to do that, if it mean having reach the maximum potential of said categoris is still impossible since one can alway improve his nen or learn new ability. but since i'm not english it is also possible that my understanding of the world "mastering" is off, wich would mean this LONG coment was meaningless. but this though still make me smile so it's ok eiter way

He hasn't mastered all other categories of Nen, he can still only use lower level techniques from other categories compared to his natural affinity Conjurer. All ET does is bring the potency of the technique onto the same level as his Conjurer techniques. It was explained that if you are a Conjurer you can use Conjurer techniques at 100% effectiveness and 0% aura waste, then the two neighboring categories on the Hexagon used to depict the relationship between categories. He would have 80% effectiveness and 20% aura waste (with the exception of specialist always being at 0% chance of learning the technique itself). The next two further away would be 60% effectiveness and 40% aura waste, etc. For example, he wouldn't be able to use a high level Manipulation technique but whatever Manipulation technique he does use, it will be as strong and no aura being wasted. Making every technique he uses regardless of what category it resides in, be at 100% effectiveness and 0% aura waste.

2024-08-29 01:31:04 +0000 UTCthe drawback of being in "that state" (Emperor Time) is never explain in the anime so you will have to either read the manga or finish reading my coment, but the manga do expain the drawback and condition to use emperor time later in the timeline tbf, bthat bbeing said the anime didnt adapt that far and its been a decade, so i let you judge if you wanna read it or not, it is a spoil but you will never get ur answer if you dont plan on reading HxH so... Kurapika "ET"(Emperor Time) spoiler ahead : first of all utilising "Emperor Time" take a heavy toll on his body and mind, causing a high incapacitating fever, and more importantly he lose 1HOUR of his lifespan for each SECOND in "ET" (wich mean even 10 minute in emperor time make him lose 25 day of lifespan, but figth can last hour in HxH...) also he has to be a specialist to use it, so he can only use ET when his eyes turn scarlet. PS: sorry for my english hope it was clear enough

It also made me come to the realization that no matter how many times I have watched this episode, I always feel like this is my first time watching it. Afknmazing!!! (Smart move) Each of his chains has a unique ability: Thumb (Holy Chain): Enhances and speeds up healing, useful for wounds. Index Finger: ?? Middle Finger (Chain Jail): Restricts and paralyzes a target by forcing them into Zetsu, a state that nullifies their Nen. No Ten for defence, no Ren to maybe overpower the chains, No Hatsu for any shenaningans ability to escape. No aura, just physical body. Ring Finger (Dowsing Chain): Helps find objects and detect lies, possibly by sensing subtle changes in the target. Little Finger (Judgement Chain): Allows Kurapika to pierce a target’s heart and impose conditions they must follow or face death. Outside of these abilities, Kurapika relies on his martial arts and basic Nen techniques. Like the Enhanced punch and enhanced Ten for defence, In to make his conjured chains invisible and hard to detect, Gyo etc. And with his conditioning Vow rule to himself made the conjured chain as close to unbreakable and very strong. Sorry forgot one more thing. The scarlet eyes makes him have "mastery" of other Nen categories. (Example A weak Conjurer enhanced punch but once scarlet eyes activates will become damn strong as an Enhancer enhanced punch i think). The Kurta clans genetics is crazy.

It gives the impression he's a Manipulator controlling real chains. In reality, the chains are conjured and he can use techniques like "In" when his opponent thinks they're just ordinary real chains.
