5:45 i actually also thought melody was a guy when i saw her on the ending credits, but when she walked past kurapika for the first time i was like oh nevermind, she's definitely a lady.

As a 1999 HxH OG watcher, the original opening song you played really brought me back childhood memories ♥ I still have that song downloaded in my spotify... and yes, I still have it memorized to this day :) The 2011 remake is great and all, but its hard to let go of the OG version...even in terms of animation and soundtracks, if you find time...you can check out the 1999 version of the YorkNew City Auction Arc, the old animation is definitely grittier and has a darker tone to it ♥

hello Jared and Jordan, this is my first comment. I just want to thank you for your reaction. As always, you give me so many emotions, i appreciate you for that ))

I don’t consider it a spoiler at all. You know why? Because Shalnark’s nen ability is never outright explained. The guys thought he used a muscle relaxant. Do you think that’s a better alternative? It’s literally an essential plot point because that’s how they retrieved Uvo. Were they not confused on who the head bodyguard was talking to? Was the anime not clear on what occurred? There is never an in depth explanation of how his ability works because it’s such a simple and obvious manipulator ability. And guess what, he uses the same ability about 3-5 episodes later in the exact same way without an explanation. Are we allowed to explain at that situation or no? Do you think their viewing experience would be better in those situations if they understood he’s using a simple manipulator ability? If you believe his ability is ever outright explained (outside of a Hunterpedia clip which won’t occur in around 8+ episodes later, long after this incident that he used to get Uvo’s location) let me know.

i mean you're right but everything about Shalnark ability and condition to use it, is spoiler at this point, we do see the needle in the neck of the guy in the phone and make the deduction Sharlnack was controling him at this moment isnt to difficult but since it is only conjecture at this point and the anime itself dont said it or confirm anything yet, it is a spoiler, anyway HxH will show is ability in more deep later and explain it in detail even later, no need to explain it to them now :)

Hey JxJ, it's cool that you reacted to the 1999 version of the first opening song. I grew up with that version so it holds extra nostalgia for me. I encourage you to also check out the 1999 version of the first ending song, It had such a tranquil melody, I often used it to go to sleep.. Oh, don't worry there are no spoilers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=945ZWIibFyc (VHS quality for that 1999 touch lol)

They really hyped up these shadow beasts few episodes back just to wipe them out and most of them not even getting screen time, the disrespect lmao And Gon and Killua blackface? Say whaaaat 😂

Clarification on Shalnark: Shalnark was shown controlling (Manipulator ability) that individual who was on the phone. Shalnark used that remote control device in his hand to essentially "program" the individual and to do his bidding. This shows that Shalnark is a Manipulator. The needle on the back of the neck is needed to control the target. Once inserted, Shalnark uses his remote control looking device to get them to do what he wants. As you can see, this is yet another useful skill for the Phantom Troupe. This would be very useful for recon, gathering intelligence, and gathering information. Dalzollene, the head bodyguard, was tricked by this ability. He believed he was about to hand over Uvo to the mafia community who he thought he was communicating with on the other side of the phone. In reality, Shalnark was using his ability to steal the intel of Uvo's location to get Uvo back. Thus, the Phantom Troupe was able to sneak in using simple disguises and retrieve Uvo.

This episode aired the first week of September; the same week that Japanese schools resume after a month of summer vacation, where real-life kids watching the show would be seeing their real-life classmates come back to school with tans.
