HxH - Ep. 44 REACTION! *ALL PATRONS*

It’s that upstate New York accent lol

Uvo is a fun character to me lol. He’s really charismatic! He reminds me of a hybrid between Wolverine and Sabertooth from X-Men with his appearance. He’s just a big brute 😂

Joydan Bri’an

You could never expect it would go this way from the first episode

Snix

Listen to how they pronounce "available" lol. It's just how they pronounce "ai"

Even tho I’ve already seen it, it’s so hard not to watch ahead to see what comes next 🙈

I love how Kurapika has his middle finger reserved only for the Phantom Troupe XD

its_aliza

Just to clear up, the other members stated Uvogin was physically the strongest, however, not the strongest overall out of the whole troupe. Just wanted to add this little note as clarification

@beryl_foxturtle Thats how they pronounce ‘jail’, which is cute to me lol. Pretty sure they got the word jail right 😄🫶💜

random side note "Gyo" is pronounced in one syllable with a soft y, like how you say "Yo". Hopefully this makes sense!

Kurapica's middle finger power is called Chain Jail, not Chain Jall.

A lot of animes use similar power systems, and just add their own unique twist. I’ve noticed some more modern shows like JJK assume their audience has seen a few of the classic animes like HxH, so their explanations for things like a Binding Vow are pretty quick. Downside is it’s hard to keep up if it’s someone’s first anime, but the upside is that for the general anime audience, they don’t have to sit through multiple series fully explaining the same concept repetitively.

I think this got a little lost in the mix of so much information but Melody doesn't know how to play the Dark Sonata. She's looking for the score so she can destroy it because she's experienced the misfortune it can bring to a human being. Melody playing that Wild Flower song and calming everyone definitely had to be the inspiration for the scene in JJK in the forest with Gojo and Itadori, the pretty flower sceneries look near identical to me. It's so cool seeing the stuff that inspired the shows of today, like the inspo for the idea of a "binding vow" in JJK too, like you guys mentioned.

This episode solidified uvogin for me as my favorite character in hxh, as well as him being voiced by my favorite japanese voice actor (whose name eludes me right now). His voice is perfect for brick shithouses like uvo, and a character from another show i love who, just like uvo, carries the philosophy of "I am the strongest". Also, uvogin has the same voice actor as principal yaga from jjk ( the one who made panda and the cursed corpes)

Nathan Lintzenich

Yeah the JJK creator said that HxH and Bleach heavily inspired him.

I remember reading a comment or it was in the chatroom but someone mentioned that the creator of JJK is a huge fan of HxH which explains a lot of similar powers and concepts between the 2 shows

Jinx's Baby Daddy(Brandon)

Uvo’s Big Bang Impact is simple but destructive. I love how it was animated.

Hello J&J, I'm really glad you're loving HxH, this arc is one of my favorites with the one coming after it. Just a quick note, the Nen ability Gyo (ぎょor ギョ in Japanese) is pronounced as "Gy-oh" all together in a quick short syllable, I'm not an expert in phonetics so I'm not sure if I'm describing how say it in English correctly, I believe it would be written something like this /ɡjo/. It's so much easier for spanish speakers because Japanese vowels and mostly all consonants are pronoced the same as in Spanish, I hope some of the other patreons who are English native speakers can help me out on this. I love your reactions and I think HxH does such a great job at explaining the world it lives in and introducing us slowly to the power structure and it's conditions masterfully; not many shows do it as well as this one. While being diverse and creative all the Nen Powers adhere thoroughly to their established rules and follow a consistent paradigm, so that, even if we are bombarded with a lot of information it all makes sense and it doesn't leave us with the feeling that something just came out of nowhere. You will see that Nen is very complex and Hatsu in particular has many nuances within each of the six categories and as many differences as there are people since it reflects each person's potential and personality. I hope you continue to immerse yourselves in the HxH world because it keeps getting better. Love from Colombia ❤️ sorry for the extra long comment.
