yeah!! Oikawa and Suga definitely do share some similarities as well, and you're right! they're all connected in a way. Oikawa is my #1 favorite, but Semi and Suga are in my top 5 with Kageyama and Hinata as well so same here lmao

I never really noticed the similarities between him and Oikawa and you know what you are completely right. Hey speaking of favourites did you see the similarities between Oikawa and Suga as well. This is so cool all 3 of my favourite characters from Haikyuu and of anime of all time are so similar to each other Oikawa, Suga, and Semi.

I love how you guys said that everyone on Karasuno was being fearless one way or another and I could not agree more that was the perfect word to describe Karasuno. How did you like getting the backstory of Shiratorizawa's coach. Which explains why he chooses height and strength and individualism over teamwork and short players like himself and Hinata.

2024-08-16 03:45:06 +0000 UTCI was waiting on this episode because I love Semi (Shiratorizawa's #3, setter and pinch server, gray hair). I'm pretty sure he's supposed to represent what Oikawa would've become had he chosen Shiratorizawa, since Semi's playstyle is said to be similar to his and Kageyama's, flashy and in command of the game, rather than passive and just reliant on Ushijima like Shirabu's is, and Semi is said to be a better player than Shirabu is, yet he was benched and replaced because the coach wants a setter that relies solely on Ushijima. It's so tragic because Semi understands this, too, which is what his little inner monologue was about, and yet he still puts his all into his serves and shows his power in any way he still can. I love what we do get of his character (in the manga we get a little bit more of him), he's super interesting and I love how not only is he a foil to Oikawa, but also to Suga in the sense that he's also a third year replace by someone younger, but for very different reasons. Semi for being the better player and Suga for not being the better player, it creates an interesting contrast. He's actually my favorite on this team alongside Tendou, so I hope I gave you some insight to him, too! Loving the reactions!! Can't wait for you guys to see the finale, this season is really good all the way to the end :)

Unfortunately this was the last episode Kazunari Tanaka, Ukai's voice actor, recorded before passing away. It's terrible that such a talent is gone, but there are few better lines to go out on than this. It hits me hard every time.
