Jordan ‘bout people hating on characters: “Do people understand that these are not real life people” OOOHHHH you have no idea 🤦🏻‍♀️… people not only passionately hate on characters, but they also get into serious fights to passionately defend their favorite ones from hate. Back in 2013 I used to be a moderator in a forum about Naruto (manga and anime). It got to a point that I had to quit, ‘cause I couldn’t handle all those HOMERIC fights and insults between the members over fictional characters. I just wanted to ban everyone and shut down the stupid forum, but I wasn’t the owner, so I just quit and never returned. And thank you for your kind words! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ About the flood, just in case you want to know: The house I was living in got completely submerged in dirty water and stayed like that for almost an entire month, so everything that was inside went to waste. The house was a rental, but the furniture, home appliances and everything else were mine (now I drowned myself in loans to buy everything back again). When the water started flowing into my room I had to run away leaving everything behind, taking my 2 beloved cats with me (they are my main emotional support). Also could save my glasses and my phone. The first couple weeks after that I relied on donations and took shelter in my working place (I wasn’t working though, due to previous health issues). I was living away from my hometown because of my work. I’m a military on Air Force, so I got transferred a lot (to different locations around the country) during my career of over 21 years. The last location (the flooded one) was the city of Canoas, RS (Brazil). I was living there for almost 5 years and this would be my last year living there, also I was just about to get retired. It’s an early retirement, as due to some health issues I was judged incapable for military activities. The usual expected serving time before retirement is 30+ years, but I’m actually happy with this early retirement, because now I get to live wherever I want and have the time to do other things that I love, like studying. I plan on taking exams for a public (free) medical school. I’m 41yo now, so luckily I’ll be a doctor around my 50’s. I love you!!! ❤️😘

Same in the USA @Loup. My cousin was a lefty and my aunt forced her to become a righty around the preschool/early elementary school years. I’m right-handed but left-footed. My left foot is dominant in sports like soccer (football).

Tsuki is headed back to see the trainer. Also, on the play where Tsuki injured his pinky, the up ref made a hand gesture which you interpreted as a time out call. On the rewatch, watch closely and you’ll see he brushes the palm of his hand on the fingertips of his other hand. This is a “touch” call. So, while the sideline judge called the ball out, the up ref overruled his call in Karasuno’s favor saying Shiratorizawa touched the ball before it landed out of bounds. Sideline judges assist with calls, but the ultimate play call always lies with the up ref.

So Chaotic and Sassy Suga came out this episode. So how did you like that he was spiking this episode. When he made the first one I was totally surprised the first time I watched now I am just so proud of Suga for trying new things. Love how he gave sass to Tendou when he was trying to trash talk. Poor Tsukki and what a time for the injury to happen. I love how the team get really focused and determined to stop Ushijima even more now that Tsukki is off the court. Just goes show that there is now "I" in team for Karasuno

Hey Jared and Jordan, I'm very much enjoying this second watch of Haikyuu with you guys. Seeing your enthusiasm for a sports anime really makes me appreciate this series more (I'm not usually into sports in general). Hypothetically speaking, if you were to watch a basketball anime, which would you prefer between Slam Dunk and Kuroko no Basket? Slam Dunk is an old school anime with wacky characters and silly shenanigans, while Kuroko no Basket is new school with better animation and a more serious tone, drawing heavy inspiration from real life NBA players.

In the culture I grew up in, I was always told “left is the hand that takes, and right is the hand that gives”, whatever that means 🙄. I was a lefty too, until I was forced to adapt to a righty. I never knew this was a thing in the past with other cultures and now I do wow..thanks for sharing 💜 That said, although Im right-handed, there are still many things I do differently, like holding my toothbrush or using cutlery lol

I had wished I was left handed when I was a kid, it seemed so cool, since my mom is left handed 😅

Being left-handed makes you stand out, different and something else for bullies to add on. They don’t recommend trying to change it as much as they used to. You learn to adapt to living in a right handed world. My mother was horrified when she realized I was a lefty and I was already almost 5 at the time. 🙄

First of all I wanted to say, love your reactions, it's a joy to hear your stories and insight on the anime! Tendō is such a good character, and the perfect opposite of Ushijima when it comes to behaviour. The fact that Ushijima doesn't judge him for his look, and Tendō talk to Ushiwaka like a normal person instead of just an athlete, really makes me love them. He's also the dream for someone who's been bullied as a young child. Being able to turn something that could have broken him into a strength is impressive. And embracing the "Monster" title they gave him to fight against the ones who bullied him must have been such a power trip. No wonder he wanted to continue doing that afterward. Also, I love the fact his personality is completely different, even his tone of voice, on and off the court. I don't know in America but at least here in France until a few decades ago, a lot of teacher would "push" left-handed kids to use their right hand, sometimes even taping the left hand. A lot of culture considered left handedness as an evil thing. Which is absolutely stupid imo. Sorry if my english is a bit rough, writing has never been my strong suit lol

Tendou and Ushijima's relationship is one of my favorites in Haikyuu. They're both quirky in their own way (even though it's harder for some people to see this about Ushi). One is over the top/excitable and the other is stone faced/always serious. They compliment each other so well and they really are canon best buds. When you go back and rewatch the series, you really see how they've interacted as friends throughout the match. Tendou definitely understands Ushijima way better than other people, even his other teammates. And while some people are busy being intimated by Ushijima/being his fan/looking up to him, Tendou just treats him like a normal person.

41:20 so pretty sure why that spike looks hard to judge is because Ushijima spikes away from Tsukki's hand, but Ushijima's hand and not the ball itself hits Tsukki. You can't see it well because of the quick edit from the swing to the ball flying but that's my best guess on how it was ruled out on Shiratorizawa and how Tsukki still was hit hard enough to mess up his finger.
