Haikyuu!! 1 x 10 & 11 REACTION!

Comments

If you guys ever come to Colombia again let me know, I'll be your guide

Angélica Hernández

Another thing, in episode 9 Noya said even if the ball bounces off the wall, he'll connect it. When the ball hits the ground / wall the ball is a dead ball meaning it is out of play so it's impossible to connect it so Noya was saying don't worry about being blocked, he'll even do the "impossible" to make sure it stays connected reassuring that he's got his spikers back

Tim Huynh

i had a more detailed comment that i posted earlier but i was trying to edit it but accidentally deleted it instead

Hi J bro's I recently joined because I love your anime reactions and appreciate how you guys like to dive more into detail than other anime reaction channels. I love your reactions to Haikyu!! because of how you guys tie it with your relationship with sports. I also wanted to note that back in high school I played the role of libero for my team but now as a college student, I've also really gotten into basketball. If I were to describe the amazingness of Hinata's and Kageyama's super quick/fast attack. It is comparable to Jokic's highlight passes. In terms of technique difficulty and wow factor, the super quick is similar to that of Jokic's amazing no-look dimes to a cutter attacking the basket. It is a surprise attack play coming from a genius passer to a cutter. It is ridiculously hard to stop, but it isn't impossible to defend. I think it makes it even more amazing if you can imagine high school kids making no-look dimes like Jokic and Doncic in high school.

Hi guys... Joined because I saw your anime reaction videos on YouTube and just needed more... Welcome to the world of anime where you'll experience some of the best story telling in fiction... Hell yes to the twitch binge party!!!! 🎉🎉 P.s. I'm Jamaican and it really warms my heart to hear that you had such a great experience during your time there 😄 🇯🇲 Also fav Haikyu Character is Nishinoya and one other but we not there yet

_maomao_

Hii just letting you know that the end of eps 13 on Haikyu has an extra scene after ending song.

there are 6 spots on the court on volleyball and they are all assigned: P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 P6 https://gyazo.com/b11de90b28ebbc66ce7336345b1dd67e image to help picture it Positions Wing Spiker: Asahi, Tanaka, Daichi Middle blockers + Libero: Hinata, Tsuki + Nishinoya Setter / Opposite: Kageyama, Daichi When one of the wing spiker is front row, the other one has to be directly across from them in the back row, This goes with the middles / liberos and the setter / opposite hitter Wing Spiker: - Well balanced - Plays defense well - Has good offensive skills - Blocks and hits from the left side when front row (P4) Middle Blocker: - Responsible for blocking the left side, middle, and right side - Runs offensive plays in the middle - Mainly stays in P3 when front row Libero: - Defense only - Can't attack from anywhere - Can't serve - Goes on in place of the middle after middle serves Setter: - Initiates the offence - Chooses who to set the ball to - "Only" offensive play is to serve - When front row they block from P2 Opposite: - They are across from the setter at all times - They don't usually pass but in Haikyuu Daichi plays opposite and he passes the ball and attacks because Karasuno's team isn't the best at defense - When front row they attack / block from P2 From my 10+ years of playing volleyball this is the best I think I can explain the positions, I have left some stuff out because I probably forgot about it or they are mentioned later in the show so it would spoil it if i say it now

Emanuel

Aw thank you so much Angélica. We are honored to have you join our journey! We will definitely spend some time to check out the meanings behind some of the players names! And great question! We LOVEEE Colombia! We went there a few years ago and brought back so many great memories! Much love 💜 (And oh my haha.. you were Hinata in high school, we hope you have healed from that trauma of receiving in the face! Your English is wonderful by the way!)

Jared & Jordan

You already know Emanuel!! Glad to see you have come to the front of the congregation. See you tomorrow 😂

Jared & Jordan

Expecting that AOT episode bright and early tommorow

Emanuel

the untamed is great but it's chinese...BTS are korean haha. they're absolutely amazing though. they are a team with the same heartwarming vibe as karasuno

Lauren H.

Hello Jared and Jordan, love your names btw, I just joined your Patreon exclusively for your Haikyuu!! reactions. For someone who has never played sports, aside from school P.E., this anime has taught me a lot not only about volleyball and sports in general but also about life, relationships, succes, failure and resilience. I love your reactions and all of your discussions and rants, your guys are so heartwarming and funny. I hope you continue to follow this Haikyuu journey, it is without a doubt worth it. Please take time to check out the meaning of the player's names, it will give a wonderful insight into their personalities and relationships with each other as well as a great appreciation for the author's ingenuity and deliberate decision, as to how we should interpret his masterpiece. My question is, during your time playing basketball, did you have rivals from other teams that you always wanted to play against and encourage each other? Greetings for Bogotá, Colombia. 🇨🇴 PS: During my school PE experience I was always Hinata, receiving balls with my face instead of my hands, in either basketball or volleyball and sometimes tennis too, such traumatic memories 😮‍💨😞😱. Also excuse my English as it is not my first language.

Angélica Hernández

Great explanation. Your English is fantastic. Thanks 😁

Cheryl Lambert

Love how passionate you both were, talking about club basketball in Jamaica. Go unhinged, share more! We love to hear as much as you wish to share 💜💜 You both going “oh decoyy” at the same time makes my heart warm, truely. L!!! I said it too! Definitely the feet rubbing 😂😂 Looking forward to Crows vs Cats 💜🙏🏻💜🙏🏻💜

This still makes me giggle a lot because the juxtaposition of Kenma's soft-spoken tone and Eren being...well, Eren is too funny. Also Levi and Takeda-Sensei! 🤣

Thank you for a bright and comforting end to my Wednesday work day. Thoughts on: “How cruel.” - Coach Ukai The synchronicity between Kageyama’s tosses and Hinata’s jump/swing thoroughly impresses Coach; so much so, he assumes this kismet had to have developed over the course of years (since elementary school). Takeda corrects this assumption. Kageyama and Hinata have just met and to boot had tumultuous beginnings. “How cruel,” sates Coach Ukai. I have always interpreted this as a lament. How cruel/how cold is the universe to have deprived the game and fans of this fascinating combo until high school? Or how cruel/cold is the universe to limit this duo’s potential by uniting the two so late in the game (high school)? I have always leaned toward Coach wondering what could have been and could be now had Hinata and Kageyama connected sooner than high school. Or, perhaps he is contemplating his looming starting lineup decision, feels his decision solidifying, and sees the cruel/cold irony of a new, unlikely, chaotic, but mesmerizing pairing (Kageyama and Hinata) upsetting the old and steady guard (Suga and Asahi). ^^^Some interpretations to chew on. I love the highly unpredictable and erratic float serve! As a tool, they can make or break the tightest of games and thoroughly frustrate receivers. With no spin, the float’s deviation is wholly dependent upon how the ball’s panels disrupt the air around the ball (like baseball seams or golf ball dimples create lift, drag, turbulence). Powerful topspin serves will always have a wow factor, but a well-executed float…well, for me, rattling an opponent with finesse brings greater satisfaction. Similarly, I’d take a phenomenally threaded pass for a lay in/put in over a breakaway dunk.☺️ Question: You are correct that Hinata pauses in conversation with Kenma due to hierarchical age structures. Hinata realized he shouldn’t be speaking and interacting so informally with an upperclassman. How was your high school structured? Were your interactions with schoolmates limited or structured certain ways by kids’ ages? How about sports teams? Did upperclassmen have different privileges? Were underclassman hazed? As adults, are your social circles made up of age mates or do they include a variety of ages?

The name Suga is just meant for people who are great role models... the evidence is evidencing out here fam!! 🤭

nikki

Now you can see one of the reasons why I absolutely love Suga and I can relate to him so much. Did you also see how much Suga's speech inspired not only Coach Ukai but also Daichi and Asahi and that was why they gave Suga those looks during their lunch break. I am so excited to see you guys react to the Crow vs Cat practice match.

Nightwing

i’m so so SO excited for you guys to see the matches that are to come & how karasuno overcomes each obstacle & grows stronger each & every time! i’m also excited for new characters & teams to be introduced, you guys really have no idea 🥹. p.s. I think you guys should watch “Kuroko’s Basketball” as well. it’s VERY similar to this anime but based on basketball instead of volleyball. :)

watch out J & J, new telepathic twins are in town: Ash & Bibi 😂

It is really neat that y'all had the opportunity to play in Jamaica and see new perspectives and experiences, that must have been the time of y'all's lives. My username is pronounced like freckles btw (just with an L instead of an F). I probably exaggerated saying I watched an uncountable amount of anime, but it's probably in the 1000s by now. Romance, Music, Isekai, Sci-fi, Adventure, Fantasy, Shonen, Slice of Life, etc. There are a lot of genres in the anime cosmos. For me, I lost passion in band, and marching band. Music was a way for me to gleefully experience the universe with my own two hands. I started percussion in middle school and loved it immediately, and felt a deep connection to it because my mother and uncle were percussionists. Joining marching band and concert band in high school was a wonderful experience for me. I was one of the bigger base drums on the drum line. Band holds a special place in my heart and provided friends and connections that I'll never lose. However, after graduating high school I just didn't have the motivation to continue into college with music. It felt like that was a certain time and place in my life. I still love listening to all types of music though. I was able to discover a different passion though, in nature. I am currently getting a degree in Natural Resources Management: Wildlife Biology, and plan to work with birds. Birdwatching has also become something that brings joy into my life. Also I became an uncle a little more than 4 months ago (my brother's daughter) and it brought an unexplainable feeling of love and joy into my soul. My question: How do y'all think that Kenma and Kageyama, as they are both setters, will interact/compete with each other during the upcoming match? Kenma is reserved, quiet, and calculating. Kageyama is serious, competitive, and relies on his instincts more than his brains during a game (at least that's how I see it).

^^^ my girl is on point 💜

Bibi

Adding on to Bibi's comment: Just as a friendly reminder, let's allow the guys to form their own opinions and analysis without commenting "is my favorite, you'll see why later" or anything to pre-hype/anticipate an upcoming character/episode/season since it's not fair to the guys to not allow them experience it for their first time with our hindsight and opinions, and only give detail on what they have watched or if they misunderstand something. 😊

Ashley K

Nekoma is here!! Just to let you guys know, most people, including me, have a favorite character on each team. My favorite from Nekoma is Kuro. I’ll explain my reasons when he’s introduced more. Also, it’ll be interesting to hear you guys comment on who you’re gravitating to or who’s your favorite on each team as well!

Joydan Bri’an

Suga is such a good role model (both BTS and Haikyuu one 😂 )

Bibi

To my lovely Haikyuu fam, Please be mindful of accidentally giving out spoilers when analyzing a character! I know we are all excited for Haikyuu but we must remember to not analyze a character with personality traits that haven't been revealed yet. Since we have finished watching Haikyuu, it’s natural for us to know all the characters and their completed characteristics/personalities! Similar to when we first watched Haikyuu, J & J can only analyze a character based on the information presented so far. They will eventually understand the characters more as the series reveals more information 😊 🙏 💜

LADIES AND GENTS WE HAVE SEEN KENMA AND KURO 🤗

A bit of an explanation about why Hinata freaked out upon finding out that Kenma is older than him: In the Japanese language there are different levels of speech which come with levels of politeness you have to use depending on who you are talking to. 1) The casual/informal speech : exclusively used when talking to people you are very close to who are the same age as you or younger than you. In the show Hinata uses it when speaking to the first years in the team and his friends and family 2) Formal speech: Used when speaking to strangers, people you are not close with(even if they are the same age) , and people older than you. In karasuno, the first year members use this kind of speech when talking to the 2nd and 3rd year. The 2nd year members ex: noya and Tanaka use it when speaking to the 3rd year members but when they are talking to each other or to the first year members they switch to the informal speech. Here, Hinata used the informal speech right away, which can be considered rude because regardless of the age, he does not know Kenma so he should be speaking in formal speech. So when he learned that he is younger than Kenma, he freaked out because it's disrespectful. But he's lucky since Kenma doesn't care about this stuff. It juste shows how friendly Hinata is and how easy going Kenma is 😊 Interesting fact : Takeda sensei always uses the formal respectful speech even when speaking to his students, despite the fact that they are younger than him and him having authority over them. The other teachers and the coach use informal speech when talking to the students. I'm sorry for the long comment and I hope it's clear, English is not my native language so I don't know if I explained well 😅 I really love your videos! And can't wait for more 😁

golden week i think was starting on tuesday.. so that monday they still had school according to the calendar haha

carmen 🫧

Thank you!

Dofftee

Fun fact, Eren and Kenma have the same voice actor, Yūki Kaji. It's hard to catch since the character's personalities are so different but once you hear it it's hard to forget lol. There is another character that has the same voice actors from AoT, but they haven't been introduced in AoT yet, we'll let you know when they arrive.

Muh-la-lay

Also, that first meet-up of Hinata and Kenma was hilarious!! It's like seeing my introvert side and my extrovert side talking to each other LOL

nikki

Your english is amazing!

Bibi

girl i am sorry but wang yibo the guy who played Lan Wangji was from the group called UNIQ, not BTS

bebe

OMG YESSSSSS what a treat to enjoy after work

I love your reactions and I joined your patreon immediatly after I learnd that you started your anime-journey!!! I have a question for you: We established that the teams represent characteristics of the animals that are related to their names. What are the characteristics you connect to a cat and to a crow? And how do you think will these traits be shown in a fight between the animals or rather in a match between the two teams? And who will eventually come out on top? I hope you can understand what Iˋm trying to say. Since english isnˋt my first language Iˋm always a little nervous when I write in english. PS: I donˋt know if anyone else already recommended this but there is an anime about basketball. It is called "Kurokoˋs Basketball". I believe the series is a bit older than Haikyuu but itˋs also an amazing show. And I can follow your comments about basketball just because I learned about the sport from this anime.

Dofftee

Lots of mumbo jumbo about the positions in volleyball lol, feel free to skip In volleyball there are usually 2 of each positions on the court making 6 players + a libero on the side for defense and they are across from each other, 2 Wing Spikers (Left sides) like Tanaka and Asahi, 2 Middle Blockers + Libero like Tsuki, Hinata + Noya 1 Setter + Opposite / Right Side like Kageyama and Daichi Example. When Tanaka is front row, then Asahi has to be back row directly across from him, same with the middle blockers, and the setter / opposite. https://gyazo.com/b11de90b28ebbc66ce7336345b1dd67e This image helps visualize it, P = position WS = Wing Spiker / Left Side (more westernized term) They hit and block on the left side when front row, and pass in the back row. Like the show said, they are a well balanced player S = Setter The player who gets the 2nd touch and initiates the offense. They also block when front row on the right side, and play some defense in backrow. The only defense they play is when the opposing team is spiking the ball towards them, the setter doesn't play defense on serve receive because they are going to set the ball on 2nd touch when their team passes the ball. Sometimes the setter will have to get first touch if the ball gets hit directly to them meaning they can't get the 2nd touch so another player will have to compensate and set the ball, usually a front row player will do that meaning they lose an offensive player for that play OP = Opposite / Right side (more westernized term) They usually don't pass on serve receive meaning they are always available for an offensive play whenever needed. The setter always has to run to the front and get ready to set the ball if the they don't touch the ball first so the Opposite's job-ish is there to also help get the first touch so the setter is always good to get the second touch. NOTE: In the show there's 3 Wing spikers instead of 2 Wing spikers and an Opposite. I believed Ukai did this because he said their defense isn't the best at the moment, so he put Daichi (Sawamura) there to help compensate the lack of defense their team has MB = Middle Blocker They hit mainly from the middle area, and they block everywhere (left, middle, right sides) in front row when they can. When they go back row, they serve and then they get subbed off for the Libero whenever it's the opposing team's serve Li = Libero Defense specialist, can only play from the back row, can't do any offensive moves (spike, serve) but they pass everything. This is my explanation of all the positions from my knowledge, I've played volleyball for 10+ years so I'm pretty confident in what I said. There's still a lot of stuff I left out but that's because it is a potential spoiler to the show and I will let you guys figure that out when it comes :D

Tim Huynh

That confrontation between Suga and Coach Ukai is one of my most favorite Suga moments in the entire show.. Like it takes a lot of courage and humility to voluntarily say all that or even come up to that decision to hand over the starting setter spot to Kageyama. Suga always amazes me hands down!! What a guy!! And I love Kenma too, Jared!!!! Kuro as well!!!!

nikki

The fact that Captain Levi and Takeda shares the same VA, and Eren and Kenma shares the same VA will always be a “math isn’t math-ing” type of situation for me lol.

Mel

Just wanted to point out that there’s a post credit scene in episode 13!

Fe

omg i had no idea. i probably never noticed because their average volume of speaking is vastly different lol

Bjarne

yeah a floater have the same principle than a knockle ball in baseball, in both case the goal is to spike/trhow the ball in a way there is no spin on hit, wich will make is trajectory chaotic and imprevisible (that have a lot to do with how a ball would behave against air resistance whitout any spin) hope you can understand what i meant, english isnt my native language

noakey harding

Here comes the character who has the same VA as Eren from AOT.. Kozume Kenma!

Mel

I love Haikyuu!! Wednesdays! 💜💜💜

Murmur

No idea how to set up a twitch, I've never used it, but I'll definitely tune in for a Haikyu binge I've never seen a BTS video. Any, but I might check some of them out. All I know about them is one of them played Lan Zhan/Lan Wanji in The Untamed and he was AMAZING in that role Haikyus creator is really into horror manga so we get funny nods to that

Rhast

Loved the story about losing passion but finding it again in a different way. If something you love isn't bringing you happiness anymore, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I was a huge artist in my teens/ early 20s, but eventually I didn't get the enjoyment out of it and it faded from my life. Now my daughter has taken after me in that area, and I'm happy about it and finding enjoyment through her. Probably a lot like your father with basketball.

Rhast

starting today with my favorite movie and immediately going into haikyuu is a good good day 💜 Ah you've met Kuro, one of my favorite characters. I can't wait for you to get to season two where you meet my favorite 😁 excluding Hinata and Tsukki who are my fav Karusono boys. This show does make it difficult to have a favorite character, for real.

fox

I'm so glad I get to watch you fellas on this journey 🏐✊🏾
