2024-03-10 00:38:05 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if this helps or not, but when I first began watching anime I would watch the episodes dubbed because it helped me with character recognition. For some reason when I watched subbed unless a character has a very distinct voice, I can't distinguish the characters by voice because it all sounds so similar to me, however, with watching dubbed and not having the multitasking involved it helped me keep characters separated based on their voice. I love that you guys went straight into anime watching subbed, however, for me I was not able to do that until my 3rd or 4th anime series. 😅

Hey tbh I don't think AOT is the show to be reading comments(relating to personal opinions on characters which can be changed as the story goes on, questions for you to reflect and explaining the show poorly), unless you have a moderator. There's people here who are unable not to say spoilers even if unintentionally. And that can really ruin this show for you. I would say, get a moderator to choose the better comments and questions for you to read. Also I feel like you're over analysing this show, which by itself its already a very complicated show. They give answers to almost EVERYTHING on this show. The subscribers simply want you to get every single little detail right away which is unfair to you tbh... Also DON'T google anything AOT related you will get spoiled on something that will ruin the whole show for you (specially when the show is over), and then you'll have to pretend you don't know certain things. Also stop telling these guys every single thing on this show is an easter egg. that won't necessarily make the run show smoother for them. They clearly overthink things and are naive to "anime logic". For example we all knew Sasha heart eyes animation was just for exaggeration, they don't. We have experience with anime, y'all forced them to have this show be one of their first animes and now I think they should just watch it and maybe only after pick up on things they missed ( specially when the main story and plotline is answered and explained on the show many times). You want them to be geniuses analysing this show when they clearly have trouble telling characters apart, or figure out who is talking in a scene. They're not used to anime. Also please don't watch opening credits from now on, it will only confuse you further specially season 2 onwards.

AoT season 1 have some corrupted scene including in episode 13. 14 until the end season 1 is probably fine. They fixed all corrupted scene on Blue-Ray version.

But if you’re like me, you’ll still be confused when you get closer to the end and end up looking things up because I don’t do well with anime that doesn’t tell you things directly at one point or another. Or I’m just always a huge clueless idiot 🙂. That’s why I don’t mind reactors reacting to AOT but it’s never been my top 4

For me I watched AOT in covid 2020, and binged it in about 5 days, I watched BB last year because my friends told me its the best show ever. I agree that it is an incredible show, but when I told them AOT is the best show after I finished BB they were stunned into watching it, and now they also agree its better then BB. BB for me is 9.5, and AOT is a perfect 10

I appreciate that people are trying to help them keep everything straight but too much breakdown can also give things away for future plots/episodes.

It’s great that people are trying to be helpful but I feel some comments could’ve withheld some information. If this becomes a trend people will continue to chime in with TOO MUCH information without giving the guys the chance to just watch, analyze and learn as they go through more episodes. I don’t think anyone should ever emphasize a specific upcoming episode/character with the "is my favorite, you'll see why later" so the guys can go in blindly without any anticipation! It ruins the first time watching experience.

2024-02-23 19:46:13 +0000 UTCI love your guys reactions, I like it when people pay attention, especially in shows that are so much filled with little bits of informations and riddles. Also the raw emotions, how you *feel* the show, but also how you are trying to figure out who is who. That being said, don't feel bad for not remembering characters or confusing who is who while watching. While AoT has less of an issue in this area, anime often still suffers from "same face syndrome" making it hard to recognise characters unless they have wild hairstyles and hair colors. AoT tried to stay rather realistic however in terms of character design. Additionally, you guys aren't used to watching anime, so it's even harder for you two to recognise the little nuances there (like Annie side profile, she has a crooked nose). Generally, in this anime, try to pay attention to head shapes and body shapes. Most of us watched anime since childhood, so we are used to be able to distinguish characters. Imagine like how a rap fan is capable of hearing the text rapped, while someone who doesn't listen to rap usually can't follow the text. (Same with metal music). On another point, people can have favourites, whenever these survive or not, as seen in the Game of Thrones show, were you don't really know what will happen either. So don't see whenever someone has a character as a favourite, as a telling whenever that character will survive for long or not. Also, usually, people commenting on who their favourites are, usually are the ones who favor less obvious ones.

Given the episodes you've watched today who do you believe is who? Food= humans or titans? Hunter= humans or titans? Obviously titans are not food as in the literal sense, however I think the humans thus far have proven that they are somewhat capable of being hunters.

Growing up in the hood it feels real to me but I can't relate to an anime. To me AOT reminds me of Walking dead. I really never was really into AOT like that. I only watch the 1st session and stopped. Too much talking. But Im gonna watch it through with you guys because your reaction makes this show much better. Vowels pronunciation in Japanese comes down to 5 simple ways: Vowel “A” is pronounced “Ah” Vowel “I” is pronounced “Ee” Vowel “U” is pronounced “oo” Vowel “E” is pronounced “Eh” Vowel “O” is pronounced “Oh” Examples: Oikawa is pronounced as O-EE-KA-WA Daichi is pronounced as DA-EE-CHEE (Since AoT doesn’t have a lot of Japanese names, I’m using the ones from Haikyuu)

To all AOT enthusiasts out there: I know you mean no harm but PLEASE watch your phrasing and refrain from comments like "this one is my favorite character, you'll learn why later" "these guys haven't been properly introduced yet" "this character is so underrated" etc... These comments clearly suggest more development and even if sometimes you try to mislead J&J, it's better for their experience if we stick to simple comments that correct the facts they got wrong.

2024-02-23 14:51:01 +0000 UTCi just wanna say that this show will let you put a lot of connections with the real world, all topics will be discussted ! it a philosophical show, anything mentionned can be related to our real world, ( politics, religions, corruption,human nature ... ) everything, and you will start noticing that in the next episodes and seasons especially !! it will hit you so hard, that's why i told you once that this show will change your life ! it's a masterpiece without mentionning the fact that they are putting a lot of pieces from the begining that you can't notice in a first time watching but once you finished it all you will be able to complete the puzzle ! again this show is made to be rewatched too many times, because nothing is put there without a purpose
