Added 2016-12-27 00:13:57 +0000 UTCPascal's parents first realized that something was wrong with him when he was just two months old. Pascal was born as a perfectly well baby except for the fact that he was growing way faster.
With 9 he was 5' 11 (1,80m) inches big—as big as a well grown 17 years old! Only three years later he was already 7'4 inches (2,23m) and way bigger than everyone else in his class or even bigger than his own parents.
Doctors found an inversion in the 12th chromosome and offered Pascal and his family to stop his growth by giving him high-dose testosterone but Pascal declined. He actually liked being that big and growing even more.
Last time doctors asked him if he wanted his growth to stop he was 21 and 7'8 inches (2,34m) and Pascal declined again. "I know that this SIZE can cause some health conditions but I'm feeling perfectly fine so why should I stop now?" he said in an interview with ABC back then.
Today Pascal is 28 years old and he started the testosterone therapy over a year ago. Ever since his growth has stopped at 8'7 inches (2,62m).
"Because of the high-dose hormones I'm putting on some serious mass at the moment," he tells us. "Before the therapy started, I was this huge but skinny boy, weighing 488lb (221kg) because of my height alone. Today I'm the same height but weigh 580lb (263kg)."
We asked him about his life as a giant.
"Well, I like being big, no question. The feeling of overshadowing everyone in the room—no matter what—left his mark on me. And even though there are daily situations that are hard to handle I sometimes wished to be a little taller. Not Robert Wadlow tall (*Biggest human ever lifed—8'11.1 inches) but taller than my current height."
