The Age Reveal
Added 2023-12-06 02:10:12 +0000 UTCRaff has had a p hard go around by the time Birdie meets him, he acts p gruff, has a 'war injury' aka a bad knee, and goes to bed at 8 pm, so it's easy to assume he's not young... but he is. He dropped out of lawschool at 19, became a soldier in pursuit of becoming a knight, excelled at it, 'failed' his mission, came home injured to his fiancee having moved on, felt like a failure and requested to be transfered, worked as a guard from 23-25 in a small town nothing happened in, became the sarcastic depressed guard npc you meet, and then was recruited by Marlon because he had to go check on them after a 'group of adventurers went missing' and he brought them back, before promptly going to the tavern and Marlon convinced him to become an adventurer. Then he was doing it for a few months before Birdie joined.
Birdie is a home schooled failed cleric, working as an assistant to her mom until she saved up enough to open her own apothecary which she was mostly doing just to keep her parents happy/not worried because helicopter-y. She bumped into Raff + Co on her way home from looking at potential places to have her apothecary, only to drop it all and finally begin adventuring like she always wanted. Better late then never!
