Those kind of crop fields most likely have several paths to get to the center so a farmer can inspect/harvest his plants. And the paths would offer a quick means to maintain the irrigation lines if they were to get damaged.

My Proper Review: Part 1? Well, this is gonna be good! The moment I saw the title and Pixie, I mentally face-palmed with a "Oh boy ... Pixie, what did you do this time? I thought you and Brutus talked about this kind of thing!" Oh well, it's clearly a core personality trait, and their lives would be so boring without it. At least uncanny survival is another trait of hers. Never change, Pixie! The fact that she landed hard enough to knock herself out is concerning. Hmm ... running in circles. That's rough. When stuff like this happens, don't you wish you could reach your head through the computer screen and yell: "MOVE THOSE LEGS, PIXIE!!!"? I know that SOUNDS stupid, but at least she'll discover the plastic bag she left behind more quickly when she returns to the start of the circle, cluing her in to taking a different approach, helping her get home faster, giving Brutus less grief. Then again, they'll probably send her eagle brother-not-really to look for her, in which case it might not make a difference.
