[A Stars episode, plus some photos of things going on]
My production copy of Swords: Cut the Deck arrived! It's the first time I've had a new version of the game in a while, and the quality is really good. I'm super happy with how everything has turned out.
Life Updates
I spent the beginning of the week angrily tracking my Cut the Deck parcel after it arrived at my door and they didn't bother to knock or leave a note. It got all the way to my street in Wellington, from Texas, was then driven back to Auckland at the other end of the North Island, then flown to the South Island before finding its way back to a designated pickup point in Wellington. A harrowing ordeal, but I have the game now!
If you know any Wellington game reviewer YouTubers or podcasters who you think would have a fun time trying out Cut the Deck and making a video review, I'd love to set that up. Also anybody who would have a good time making a custom terrain playmat or other bespoke stuff like that.
Sticker Club is mostly packed up now, except for a few special cases where I need to add some extra flair. If you are a Sticker Club member and you haven't put in your address, please do so. I'll be leaving this open all November, but it's immensely helpful if you give me a head start.
I actually have to take the Sage Tier ones to the post office unsealed and make sure they don't exceed the weight limit... tee hee...
Still watching Bleach, Lower Decks, Taskmaster UK, Taskmaster AU... and I have listened to the new Ranma 1/2 themesong on YouTube a... lot of times...
My weight is creeping back up after 2 solid weeks of daily weight loss... Because Thane sent a bunch of candy in the same box as Cut the Deck? Yes. But also I've just gotten a bit slack. I need to double down this week.
I'm going to be an uncle! My older brother is having a baby early next year.
My hard drive is full... I should buy a new external...
I've had a few requests for more Quest Sprout content to help deal with all the bad news going on in the world... I have seen your requests and I will do what I can when I have some time...
Social Updates
BlueSky has grown from 7.7k followers to 9.6k followers, which is slowing down a bit, but still some great growth. Twitter in the meantime has dropped another 500 as people evacuate.
The new webcomic reading platform Fables is having a launch-month contest with cash prizes of up to $1500 if you find their mascot hiding in several series, including Swords. Don't go looking just yet - the contest hasn't started - but feel free to help each other in your hunt.
Caffeinated Dragon in Wellington NZ are relocating to Manners Street tomorrow - I was hoping to take my new copy of Cut the Deck there to have some games, but I've got a few things to take care of at home. If that sort of thing would interest you, please be vocal about it so I can gauge if its worth carving out a time. They have a range of Swords postcards, stickers and enamel pins now, if you haven't visited in a while - and I gave them some Cut the Deck promo cards to hand out too! Go ask for one!
Product Updates
There is one copy of the Quest Sprout zine left to preorder, they should be arriving this week for me to ship out
We've requested an updated timeline estimate on Cut the Deck, hoping to hear back shortly
I have completed a bunch of art for a smaller Cut the Deck expansion pack, so if we decide we wanna have another go, it's 100% ready to go... Just as soon as the first one ships and people say they like it...
I have a dozen Kargob plushies and a few Quest Sprout vinyl figures in storage which should be coming to meet me in Wellington just before Christmas. If you'd like to buy one, let me know and I'll keep you in mind.
Next Makeship launches this month... I need to start getting ready...
Black Friday is coming, so I might have a big ol' sale on my leftover pins next weekend. I'll make sure to give you guys a discount code.
That's about it! Very busy! Much busy!
