Delays are never fun. But, at least in the case, it resulted in a much bigger episode. We have 25 new pages, plus a bonus pinup. 😊
Jill learns a lot in this episode, and there's even more to come. Will she be able to keep it together as her old life falls further and further behind?

Has Jack experienced a kind of 'identity death' because he is now identifying as Jill? Holly would argue that the person hasn't fundamentally changed, even if they've grown (and shrunk 😉) and changed. Does Jill's ability to adapt mean that she's weaker than Ryan? Or is she the stronger because she was able to bend and not break?

She has already told Xu that she genuinely cares for Jill. The question, of course, is how far she's willing to go to help Jill... Especially now that Xu has offered her an out PLUS $10 million.

He knows how vulnerable Jill is feeling now with her future in doubt. The "Coming Out" dinner is only a few days away! She's standing on the edge of a cliff and has no idea what's at the bottom. We're going to get to see Ryan's story in a bit of a flashback so we can see his changes. 😊

There’s just so much going on which confounds what Jill’s believed to be true which isn’t. And the way that you convey her growing realisation is simply heartbreaking. It’s brilliant art. Watching her crumble inside is horrible, but then she regroups somehow and a renewed resolve emerges from somewhere. And you make it all appear on her face. Amazing.

I mean don't get me wrong, Mr Zu should should be locked up with the key thrown away for what he is doing. But, if I were in the same situation as Ryan, I think I would have submitted to my feminine self a long time ago! When life gives you lemons, make lemonade (and I like lemonade!). Davis has told Jill a lot of "truths" that have sent her reeling... but peppered with a good amount of lies to confuse her, make her more desperate and to win her over to the organization's cause. Because although I've said before that I don't trust Holly very much, we do know that the photos they found in Xu's office were not staged... that they put them there for her to see, yes, but with what intention, we don't know, but we do know that Emily's conspiratorial meeting with Mason and later with Josie and Connor, was not staged. Nikki's escape was another set up? I doubt it even more hehehe. In short, what a great chapter, because it seems that some questions are answered... but many more are opened! I imagine that in the next chapter we will know something more about Ryan's backstory. His story must be very interesting because he's been on the Island as long as Jill and they still haven't managed to break him.... I'm looking forward to it! I hope you are feeling better Em. Keep up the good work and keep up your amazing art and wonderful "twisted" stories! 😘

And hilarious to see him dare her to zap in when we all know she's wanted to for YEARS. You missed the balls, though, Jill! Did you forget what balls look like? 😛 God, the plans for Connor are DARK. And, yes, he's a bastard, almost definitely a serial rapist, and deserves some serious consequences, but that's got to be hard for Jill to hear; harder still to imagine telling Emily about. Straight-talking Davis is honestly kind of frightening. Peeling back the final layers of the deceptions Jill's been living in for years, exposing her, finally, to reality. And the WEDGE he's driving between Jill and Holly! Yes, again, based in truth, but it's a terrible time for her to find out, especially if Holly still wants to help Jill in some way but CAN'T because Jill no longer trusts her... *incoherent screaming* I said it already but Jill's face when she finds out just kills me. The last strings connecting her to any kind of human grace or love have just been cut. Holly's a liar, Mason did this to her in the first place, Davis is a monster, Connor's a bastard... Only Emily and Madison are left, and she can't contact either of them, and threats have been made against both their lives. Jill's completely alone. She always was — kind of; Holly really does love her, even though she lied to her — but now she *knows*. Oh, Jill. And she was so worried about her just seconds ago! Davis telling all this with, for him, unusual tact and gentleness. Mr Xu really *doesn't* want him to break her. But she has to get through this. She has to live in the real world, if she's to be... useful. I don't know if it's occurred to her yet, but Xu said Holly and he sometimes hooked up. Jill's got to start wondering, will that be her, soon? If she's to be the new Holly... And of course, Davis is a little wrong here: Holly *was* her friend. She just probably never can be again. Not without one hell of an apology — or one hell of a radically redeptive act! And then, Jill adjusts. Because she's so fucking strong. Because she can, ultimately, adapt to anything. (Xu voice: "Perfect handler material! Excellent bottom too!") Love that Davis doesn't try to disarm her. She's made her point and he's made is. They're closer to equals than they ever have been. I wonder how much of the end of their conversation Ryan heard. Considering Jill was being kinda loud. And rather threatening! That might even help her gain his trust. Not at all cynical from Davis, I'm sure 😇 Jill's willingness to see people as they are also leads her to 'she' people who would probably rather be a 'he'; whoops :3 And everything with Ryan: diabolical, heartbreaking, and a little hopeful. And also the final end of Jill's conditioning. Time to make a new *you*, Jill. Emory, this episode is absolutely amazing. The renders, especially in the faces, are astounding. And the writing! Jill's (awful) emotional journey is timed so (horribly) beautifully. I'm in awe ❤
