For day 17 of #Nonorthvember, Burden!
I thought Baltazar truly fit this prompt. He carries his family's heavy legacy on his shoulders, and his whole destiny had been written before he was even born. He follows his own rules rigorously, usually acting indifferent about his own feelings.
The fact that he lost his parents at a young age have contributed to his wish to maintain their legacy alive, since he was their only pup. But sometimes that burden gets heavy. Baltazar has experienced a very raw kind of loneliness throughout his whole life.
I would absolutely LOVE to hear your thoughts on this!
Baltazar is a bit younger in this painting, maybe during his late teens/young adult days.

I feel for poor Balt π’. Even surrounded by companions and followers, his suffering prevents him from ever realizing the good in front of him. Itβs almost like the shred of light in the drawing represents that small piece of happiness slowly fading away from him.

2022-11-17 20:22:41 +0000 UTCAnother gorgeous painting Skai, the lighting in this is so incredible! It's beautiful yet so sad at the same time. Poor guy, I really can't help but feel for him. :( This makes me think of the "Hold On" art from last year with Billy and Baltazar as pups and the context of that scene. I think the more content I see related to Baltazar and his parents, the more it deepens my sense of what he carries around with him. I hope at the end of the story he'll finally find some inner peace.
