My SNL story: I've been ARMY since early 2015 and never posted on my FB about them, but I did change my background/profile for FB as BTS things occurred - so they were always represented. A few nights after SNL, I got a message from an old friend who I grew up with and went from pre school through high school with. She had moved to Australia years ago and I only talked to her occasionally on FB posts. She sent me this message: "Hey, Kim. I know you're into BTS? I saw them on SNL... and now I think I might be a little obsessed?" Long story short - I fed her obsession and were best ARMY buds talking every day now.

The body roll of J-hope was replayed so many times everywhere, it was THE dance part and I always remember it when someone mentions this performance. And I enjoyed the bonus reaction to Ashlee (I do enjoy the drama)

I reach around to get the normal slices of bread. Then when the two heels are left. I feel sorry for them. That I left them in the bag as the last choice. So, I apologize to them and tell them they are special. Because I especially saved them to the last. They feel honored. Then I eat them. Not kidding. I created this persona for them as a child. And still apologize to them. And quickly tell them they ARE very special.

Their vocals are very raw here and i really love how the camera captured all the dance moves perfectly... which is a first for American TV lol.

And only that scene where they bend down on their knees and Chafeder V and JHop get up beautifully, even he gets up with an act.

And I would rather hear the occassional panting, and voice cracking and know it is live than have my artists lip sync.

2024-05-02 23:35:57 +0000 UTClol I’m with you! but to be honest, it’s probably because no one puts on a show like BTS does. They bring their FULL performance to every stage and honestly? That’s just not the case for the majority of American artists so the stages are small. And that’s not to drag any American artists, or other international artists honestly, but it’s just true. Rarely do people do more than stand there and sing with some cool effects in the background for shows like this. And BTS is just used to giving 1000% at all times.

2024-05-02 16:55:24 +0000 UTCone thing i find annoying tho is comments claiming all natural vocals under videos where there was an obvious autotune filter, we can be fans without acting delusional so those types of comments are a pet peeve of mine. bts are great performers period, it doesn't have to be all natural all the time to be true. also, sometimes it's used as a stylistic choice, which is cool and fine etc

2024-05-02 16:51:32 +0000 UTCone thing about bangtan is that theyre terrible at lip syncing lmao, the times where they've tried (for production issues I guess) they're always so off with their mouth movements that it's obvious lol. now I'm not clueless, I know that occasionally they will use a live autotune filter because you can hear it or turn up the backing track but Idgaf because there are so many variables that go into every performance that I trust their reasoning and I just enjoy the show. hell, didn't even beyonce lipsync for the inauguration bc the weather meant her voice wouldn't be in it's best condition and she's one the best vocalists we have and who would want to gamble on such a huge stage on whether it'll end up sounding how intended. I don't think getting a little help occasionally negates a performance, so I'm cool with it

The whole “Welcome to the behind the scenes marriage podcast”, I was crying I was laughing so hard. Then it kept going. I believe she was only like 19 at the time, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the day of the SNL performance, she had a health issue that impacted her voice, but she felt like she couldn't say no. The world was so harsh on her that it basically ended her career, and I don't know; I don't condone what she did or how it was handled at the time, but I question how much control she had over the situation. But in saying that, I do definitely see your point when it comes to appreciating live vocals, especially whilst dancing and being on tour because clearly, it takes talent, practice and dedication and a lot of artists who don't put on half the show that BTS does aren't able to sing live.

Cringe is worse than horror to me. One of the things I love about BTS performing on shows like this is they are always going to bring an amazing performance, so as an Army we just get to sit back smugly like, “See, THIS! is why I stan these guys”. Their talents and hard work shine so brightly in live performances.

2024-05-02 14:30:46 +0000 UTCwhat you were talking about at the end reminded me of when Jimin was rumoured to go on Jimmy Fallon's show so ARMY's lined up outside the place so they could get tickets and see if it was actually Jimin (and it was lol). Same with Jungkook's performance in New York time square, there was no announcement out yet but because ARMY saw his picture on the billboard above the stage and they were cleaning it, ARMY started gathering in time square and 30 minutes or so before the performance, that's when the announcement went out, but so many were already there lol.

I listen out for it through Jimin bc he tends to take deep breaths and there's something so addicting about hearing that, he makes it sound very good. Reminds me of him going viral for it in paradise *chefs kiss*. It's become a habit for me to listen out for it when he sings
