Thank you for all the reports, they really helped us to focus on some important issues before proceeding with the addition of new features. Here are some of fixes we have been working on:
Missing audio fixed (renaming the soundbank in 0.2.5 was a questionable idea, but with a more unique name, chances of conflicts are smaller).
Traffic has been fixed, as well as other scripts using bounding spheres. Another optimization that went a bit sideways, but should work fine now, my apologies.
Issues with disappearing driver belts and other objects in cars using seat belts to add switching geometry have been fixed. With all the excitement about all the new capabilities, I completely forgot to test some edge cases. Motion blur should not misbehave now as well.
Missing tree shadows together with some trees flicker, fixed. The new solution should be a more acceptable compromise.
A couple of issues with VR — namely, grass wind missing in one eye and misaligned rain tyre textures — should be fixed now as well.
Trajectory straightening for AIs is corrected. Turns out, the newly introduced limit of 3 meters was way too low for some tracks.
New KN5 loader got a couple of fixes for some edge cases too, especially for GT86 failing to load some materials online.
Saved skidmarks should not disappear upon loading anymore. That one is only partially on me, it was due to some Lua app shifting date after loading and causing them to fade, now that in-game time jump fading no longer applies to rubber marks or if jump has happened only a few seconds after loading.
Gamepads FFB is working correctly now.
Cars phasing through walls in some specific edge cases are fixed as well. Thanks to Zsolt Molnar for all the testing and helping me to reproduce the bug locally!
Wind direction in MoTeC logging is no longer messed up on tracks with non-zero heading angle, logger no longer skips invalid laps.
Distant emissive geometry on tracks no longer breaks texture assignments. That one was causing issues with lamp covers on Shuto, for example.
Apart from all that, YEBIS replacement of WeatherFX got a nice new bloom effect now with an optional dirty lens effect, the look of planets has been improved (Saturn even got rings), some Lua API has been rewritten to reduce size of standard library by 15%, and more. Here are all the changes. And here is a quick install link for a new preview build with rain.
And thank you for all the incredible support! Also, by the way, we have a Discord server, here it is if you would like to check it out.
