2025-04-17 01:29:17 +0000 UTCIt is really unfortunate that they picked the tiny vampire girl to showcase the astral that makes you younger. Is there any news on the new BlazBlue game? I don't recall ever seeing it being mentioned in any of the events ArcSys were at, so I'm assuming it's still in development. With how amazing GG Strive looks I'm sure a 3D BlazBlue would slap.

2025-04-16 05:59:33 +0000 UTCSomething I REALLY don't like about BlazBlue is how consistently they reuse assets. They use the same sprites, the same animations, and the same Astrals in every game, practically unchanged. I might be wrong about this, but I'm 99% sure that the only character who ever got a completely new Astral was Carl. The last BlazBlue fighting game we got was the spin-off crossover game Cross Tag Battle in 2018, and they were still using the exact same sprites and animations as they were in 2008. Like, even most of the crossover characters are entirely made of reused assets. Persona 4 Arena and Under Night In-Birth specifically. The only reason the RWBY characters don't use reused assets is because they didn't have any 2D sprites to reuse. Fortunately, it seems rather likely to me that the next BlazBlue will be entirely 3D. The only reason they made it 2D in the first place is because they didn't have the technology to make 3D models look 2D, but with how their 3D games look nowadays, I think it'd be only natural for the next BlazBlue to have it's first big makeover. Maybe 10 years overdue, but hey, better late than never. Also, Amane's Astral is supposed to revert the character to a younger age or a previous design, but whoever made the original video for some reason decided to use it on Rachel, so it's hard to tell what actually changed. It's supposed to be her design from one of the graphic novels. Her clothes are slightly different, for me it's easiest to see with the sleeves.
