It probably wouldn't be to your own detriment, it would be to everyone you love, including the aforementioned offsprings, detriment :/. The IRA are nasty, they are the whole reason most of London doesn't have trash cans any more because they used to leave bombs in them.

They get a little figuratively warm every time you use them. Catch bodies? They are on fire, and anything that connects you to a crime needs to go. Anything that can connect you to multiple crimes will get your ass RICOed.

If Chibs would've had the power to do something, he would've done something. Against that, what is talking shit in a bar? And what good would he do his daughter from a shallow grave? Beyond that, why give your enemy the obvious control over your emotions, that he is trying to get. Better to let it burn cold. And explode later.
