The actor who plays the caretaker was in a show called The Strain. Same attitude, BUT is a good guy. Its worth the watch

2024-07-06 21:36:42 +0000 UTCI fell from 30+ feet one time. With all the adrenaline pumping, my brain thought back to how many drunk drivers walk out of accidents uninjured, because the Aclohol makes them all Loosey Goosey... and I simultaneously thought about how shocks or whatever they're called in a car work, and applied both of those concepts to myself... A.K.A. Keep my body "rigid" until the moment of impact (when my feet hit the ground) at which point I turned into Jello, a litteral "Bag of Bones" so the Kinetic Energy(?) Of the impact dispersed itself essentially up and out of my body as I "Crumbled" after receiving the initial impact. I immediately stood up and dusted myself off then walked back to my place in formation like nothing had happened.... while everybody just stared at me and the Sergeant Grinkles was like, "How the actual eff are we not carrying your body on a stretcher to medical right now?" To whichbi replied "Science."

2023-12-20 19:27:21 +0000 UTCThere's soo many comments that i cba to read through them all atm haha, im enjoying the reaction rn. :P The reason why people dont speak Voldemorts name comes from the fact when u speak his name, he always tend to show up, which is bad. :P xD If u pay close attention or go back and fact check it, Voldemort or his death eaters always tend to show up every time his name is spoken out loud (after he reanimated ofc)

2023-08-14 13:28:39 +0000 UTCYou know, I really like you a lot lol! BUT, that was a very ignorant statement to make about sports. Sports teaches you a lot like strategy, teamwork, endurance, preparation, the rewards of preparation, the results of not preparing, to be decisive, quick thinking, confidence, vocabulary, leadership, accountability, how to process loss, respect, how to win gracefully, how to deal with disappointment, how to follow rules, how to challenge rules, pride, anger, how to deal with frustration, fairness, unfairness, hand-eye coordination, how to push yourself, when to stop/ slow down, how to be happy for others, how to get physically fit, how not to injure yourself, camaraderie, how to support others. A lot of times when you're in sports you have to do charity work and fundraising. The list goes on and on and on.

2023-07-27 22:06:55 +0000 UTCPlaying favorites at the very end to justify past actions is completely ridiculous. Imagine a referree calling something a touchdown that clearly wasnt because another ref made a bad call in the 2nd quarter.

2023-07-25 00:44:51 +0000 UTCIdentifying hidden clues and easter eggs that no one could possibly pick up from without watching the series is absolutely a spoiler. Dont say "no spoilers" if your literally gonna post a spoiler right after. Its not important to keep in mind because its completely irrelevant to this movie.

2023-07-25 00:41:57 +0000 UTCBro, I’ve read (books), watched (films), and listened (audiobooks) to this series multiple times and I never put together that the points from Dumbledore were unjustly taken points from throughout the school year. I feel kinda dumb for never noticing, but I appreciate you pointing it out. Thanks Oouga!

2023-07-20 21:18:49 +0000 UTCYeah the acting in this one as an adult is kinda silly, but when I was their age I was mesmerized. Movies get progressively darker in tone as well as acting continues to improve as they learn acting. (the books and movies have each year be about what harry is going through that year and shift darker and darker for this fact. The teen years are very crazy time when you learn many things and you get to see them all grow up from 7 years of classes)

2023-07-09 04:48:45 +0000 UTCNow that you’re well versed in Star Wars, once you finish this series you should consider a rewatch of various ERBs that you would better understand now. Namely the 3 Vader ones and the Harry/Luke one since you’ll catch the bars and references better

2023-07-03 08:44:26 +0000 UTCAwesome I'm glad to see you getting into Harry Potter. I'm positive your going to be blown away by the end of this phenomenal journey that your partaking in! Also for context, every movie gets darker and darker and goes from a relatively kid friendly movie to pretty heavy content which I'm sure you will thoroughly dissect in the films going forward!

2023-07-02 11:17:06 +0000 UTCAlso, Petrificus Totalus: the full body bind, as it's also known, merely paralyzes the external body. The victim can see, hear, think, breathe, etc, but cannot move voluntarily. Involuntary functions still operate. The hex has to be removed by a spell, often Finiti Incantatum (the spell-ending spell.) If you like, I can explain more as each movie goes on without giving away future books/ movies or plots. I am a rabid fan of the Harry Potter series.

2023-07-02 10:52:01 +0000 UTCSomething to remember, Wizards and Muggles are both different types of humans. Humans are what you are familiar with. Wizards have a heartier constitution. They are more resilient and can survive trauma that would maim or kill a human. Thus, Neville falling from thirty feet and only breaking his wrist. Or being petrified and his head not being concussed. (Aside from the fact that Neville is bouncy, as pointed out in the book: his uncle threw him off a building and he bounced.) Wizards are, by and large, a more hearty folk than un-magical humans. Some Wizards use this information to believe they are two separate species completely. But, Wizards are just another version of human.

2023-07-02 10:41:30 +0000 UTCIf you did the 'math' from the books, the hundred and sixty points given back to Ron, Hermione, and harry at the end were points unjustly taken from them during the entire school year. The 150 for their journey to go see Hagrid at night, where Draco turned him in and didn't lose points. The only punishment across the board was detention. And there was ten points near the beginning of the school year that Snape took from Harry for being Harry (or for being sassy). Thus, Dumbledore, was in effect, evening the playing field. Also, not pointed out in the movie but in the book, the Slytherins had gotten so many points by cheating.
Oouga
2023-07-02 09:58:44 +0000 UTCThe reason McGonagall doesn't expel Harry for flying his broom is because she didn't know Madam Hooch told the kids not to fly. Remember they are in class to learn to fly. She wasn't told that Madam Hooch left the class with an express no fly order. And, Madam Hooch didn't expel Harry because strictly speaking she didn't see him fly. Its the reason Malfoy wasn't expelled either.

2023-07-02 09:46:53 +0000 UTCAhoy and howdy again! There are a few things to bear in mind with the first movie. It sets up a lot of the... mood of the series, and informs about how the characters - and you - are expected to interact with the world. The camera shots are through-out the entire series, consistently excellent (And everybody ALWAYS absolutely blows their load from the third movie on), and always 'sell the atmosphere'; the first and second movies really sell that from Harry's perspective, things are entirely bewildering, mysterious, and unknown. He has no grasp on how to handle the world or take care of himself within it, and everything feels way larger than life. Also to keep a note: Harry's perspective. We are watching, in the first movie, ENTIRELY from Harry's perspective! That thing with the snake will come back into play in later movies, but we will not be seeing it from Harry's perspective anymore at that point! ALSOALSO, something important to just.. keep in the back of your mind. No spoilers, no anything. But it's a very blink-and-you-miss-it, or if-you-don't-know-then-you-will-never-find-it kind of a mention: Snape's first lesson with Harry! According to Victorian flower language, asphodel is a type of lily meaning “my regrets follow you to the grave” and wormwood means “absence” and also typically symbolises bitter sorrow. If you combined that, Snape's words mean “I bitterly regret Lily's death”. It comes back into play MASSIVELY later on! I really do hope you go through the rest of the series - and I cannot wait to see your reaction to the third movie, where they changed directors from Christopher Columbus to Alfonso Cuarón!

2023-07-01 16:55:49 +0000 UTCJust had a look at the YouTube upload. What's up with the description? Is it meant to be funny or is it meant to be serious. If the latter is the case it's really weird lol: "If you're a Harry Potter fan, then you need to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001). This movie is the first time many people see Harry Potter, and it's a classic! In this movie, Harry Potter is just a regular student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry until he is selected by the wizard Merlin to be a wizard himself. Along the way, Harry confronts danger, mystery, and magic. This is a great movie to watch if you're a first-time viewer of Harry Potter or someone who's just revisiting the series. I promise you won't be disappointed!"

2023-06-30 21:37:13 +0000 UTCGlad to seeyou finally getting around to this amazing series. For some background information, Harry Potter was born on July 31st 1980,so his first year of hogwarts is September of 91 to may of 92. Each film, with the exception of the last two, are one school year. The films get progressively darker as the characters get older and what they face gets harder. I look forward to watching them all again with you

2023-06-30 17:31:25 +0000 UTCRemember, the answer to "how is that possible, that is unrealistic and wouldn't happen in real life", in the context of this franchise, is usually quite literally just "it's magic". Why was the main hall so well lit with just those candles? Magic. Why did the muggles not see Harry and the rest run through the pillar at the train station? Magic. The measly laws of science and logic that apply to our world do not apply to Harry's world of magic and wonder ;)

2023-06-30 13:53:30 +0000 UTCThe movies get darker and more intense as they progress and the actors grow up in front of your eyes. In my opinion it really kicks off in the third movie of the franchise.

2023-06-30 08:09:00 +0000 UTCBro, I tried to watch all of the movies back to back same day, with a group... And people were just falling out of the rotation, like with a HUGE blunt. After 4 or 5 I tapped out. But they are great, and I've always wanted to finish. Each movie is a year of school, so they get darker, and better as the kids grow up. So, if you do the entire series, I'm down. Lord of the Rings as well.
Mike MIchelsen
2023-06-30 08:06:52 +0000 UTCThe Dursleys are truly vile people. Too bad it's probably the safest place for Harry to be right now. Besides Neville Longbottom, Professor Snape probably has the most interesting character arc in the series. And don't be fooled, Professor Quirrell was just being used as a vessel for Voldemort to regain his strength. The Dark Lord is not for play. A little nugget that I'm sure you'd connect anyways, and will be explained more, if you watch the next film -- although it sounds like English to us, Harry was actually speaking serpent language while at the zoo with the snake.

Slimsycentaur37
2023-06-30 03:35:58 +0000 UTCSup Boyd, I haven't watched yet, but I wanted to say the writing gets progressively less child-oriented and more mature as the series goes on, and obviously the kids (and readers) grow up, as well. The first two movies/books are pretty much like Grimm's fairy tales. The third book gets a bit rough, the fourth raises the stakes considerably, and it just stays on hard mode from 5-7.

2023-06-30 03:10:51 +0000 UTCOMG did not expect this…Im a big Harry Potter fan (books and movies). Can’t wait to see your reactions! Two non spoilers for the movies since it’s not explained going forward. Harry has to stay with his aunt and uncle because of a protection spell that hides him from Voldemort as long as he lives with family. Also everyone is scared to say Voldemort’s real name because of the fear he instilled in people. In the past he put a curse on his name so whoever was bold enough to say it it would reveal their location and he would come and murder them. There are a lot of things the movies don’t fully explain that the book does.
