Spoilers In Patreon Comments

So I know those of you who are here for Steven Universe Reactions already know this, but it's now going to be applicable to ALL Patreon uploads. I am no longer reading the comments on ANY Patreon videos.
The release of RWBY yesterday had my poor modding team pulling their hair out with how many hints, spoilers etc there were. It's just going to be too much to keep on top of, especially since moderators cannot remove comments on Patreon (what's the point of mods then Patreon? Huh?). So all they can do is reply back and ask people to remove their comments.
In a desperate attempt to avoid spoilers, hints etc I will only be reading comments on videos on Youtube when they go live. This because my mods can actually remove the comments there.
Rest assured ****if any of you are SERIOUSLY attempting to post major spoilers here though and my mods report you to me, you WILL see yourself banned from my Patreon.****
So going forward please be very careful with the information you post in a comment here, or just save your comments for the videos on Youtube.
If you're in my discord server, we can regularly chat about the show there :D as my mods also have powers to remove things there too.
TL;DR: I won't be reading / engaging with ANY comments on Patreon anymore (unless its to remove / ban / report members). If you want to leave me a comment I will see, post it on Youtube when it comes out or chat to me in the discord server.

It’s very unfortunate for everyone that the trust was broken bc both SU and RWBY have been around for so long that there’s a ton of fun facts and fandom inside jokes and memes which aren’t spoilers that can be shared but at least there’s the discord. I fear mods are gonna be working overtime in the youtube comments when the first RWBY reaction gets posted there if there isn’t some kind of disclaimer that Mosco wants to guess the allusions herself bc the allusions aren’t considered story spoilers by some (I don’t agree with that and Mosco should absolutely be given the chance to figure it out herself if that’s what she wants to do but I do understand the perspective since I’ve seen other reactors welcome people telling them the character allusions.)

2025-06-06 20:26:09 +0000 UTCI actually have a question. What would be the rule as far as telling you who the characters allude to? Like you've said Ruby and Weiss are Red Riding Hood and Snow White. Can we tell you the others, would you want us to wait a bit and let you guess for a few episodes, or can we just tell you? The allusions usually fall into more fun fact and aesthetic than any actual story relevance, but I wanted to ask anyway.

We didn't even make it one episode without changing a reactor's policy for the less fun. Can't have shit in the FNDM!

I Hope what you have seen wasn't too bad and hasn't ruined too much of what this wonderful show can offer you

So many people apparently think that heavy hints don't "count" as spoilers because they're not explicitly telling you what's going to happen, but you've got more than enough media literacy to pick up on what's being implied, and I wish they'd remember that. I'm sad that you have to make this choice, but I certainly can't blame you for it.

I know people just get excited but Mosco isn't stupid it's pretty easy to understand what you mean if you hint at something. I mean I haven't finished many things because of spoilers myself, it takes all the fun of watching stuff out. I personally already find it extremely easy to predict story plots l, and mosco is good at it too.

Like legit in RWBY for example the trailers gave us so many fun theories we could share that don’t actually spoil anything because you can be like “at this point in time people were theorizing that this this and this were happening. Or hell talk about how the music intertwines with the characters inner dialogue, thoughts, dreams etc.

I thoroughly enjoyed being able to post a thought-out response without having to wade through a couple hundred nigh-identical comments and then being buried under several hundred more. Plot points that haven't happened- SPOILER Upcoming characters - SPOILER Hyping an episode - SPOILER Confirming a character is (good/bad, gay/straight, etc./etc.) unless it was requested by the reactor - SPOILER It's not hard. Always assume a reactor is going into a show COMPLETELY blind. Let them go on the journey. You may have had aspects of the show spoiled for you, but that doesn't mean they have.

We can use our brains to figure out what you are hinting at. When Mosco asks questions about where the story is going, they are rhetoric. You aren't actually supposed to answer them unless she actually says she wants it to be clarified to her. Hold your tongue and let her get there herself.

I watch them to see how the react to certain scenes, how they think about the series and if they have similar theories or what theories they come up with I never thought of. Sure, I am not blame free as I remember at least one time I accedentally slipped up and had a spoiler within a longer comment I am really angry about myself, especially the reactor saw it... Wasn't big but still...

I've seen reactors recording brand-new episodes who had to preface their reactions by admitting they were spoiled for some scene just because they happened to go online the morning after the episode premiered and people were already sharing thumbnails and GIFs with reckless abandon.

What I had to explain was that V1 was a rough start. Anyways, shame on the people who can’t let others enjoy things without being nuisances.
