I think the reason for the enjoyment issues is the way season 2 is set up at the start mixed with the break. The first third of season 2 sets up a LOT of important plot stuff, but most of it is in the background or, in the very least, doesn't scream I'M IMPORTANT TO THE PLOT. So after a multimonth break for other shows I could easily see those bits being forgotten and, as a result, the start feeling a bit empty upon looking back.

Definitely agree that it takes awhile to get real good, but it surprisingly takes less episodes to get into the main plots of the season than season 1 did. It just feels like more because the focus is on building up important background characters/elements rather than the main cast along with the multimonth break due to other shows coming out.

Yeah, S2 takes a while to warm up. Feels like it takes forever to pick up the Lena and Della threads from S1. Happy you got what you wanted out of this one! Hopefully it can keep you hooked into season 3. You should find ample plot to get you there! Penny is delightful. Love her.

While I can't say I understand why you haven't been enjoying s2 up until now (the Lena episode, the 87 cent solution one, and others are all great imo) this is definitely where the season starts to pick up and I do think the way it all comes together is well done. I don't think you read these comments and I'm not surprised you don't remember, but we did see Della reading books about rocket science in the "Whatever Happened to Della Duck" episode. They were on the rocket with her, and we saw her reading it. She tore the book apart in anger at one point, but then put it back together. Since she's been stuck for years, she's basically been doing nothing else but reading that and figuring out how it all works. I actually like that as a show of her own kind of intelligence - she's not a genius in the way that Gyro is, but with her determination she can learn to do just about anything given the time and when she puts her mind to it.
