This episode helped explain it a little more, but first episode when we saw the graves and stuff I was so confused because none of the Vox guys looked like they'd even aged. So I assumed they all died together.

2024-10-08 19:09:54 +0000 UTCOk, so about the aging thing: Yes, Gnomes live about 500ish years. Full elves can live over 700. Half elves like the twins and Keyleth generally live to about 180. The thing with Keyleth is that she's a Druid. And if a Druid gets to be high level enough (that is, lvl 18) their aging slows to a tenth of what it would otherwise be. For Keyleth, finishing her Aramenté will pretty much definitely involve becoming that high level of a Druid. So, say she achieves that by age 30. That means she could still live a good 1500 years after that. Which is much longer than any sentient species in this world does (well. naturally at least). So basically, her best case scenario involves burying all the people she currently loves and most of those she will come to love in the future.

2024-10-08 18:17:13 +0000 UTCI think it is unclear that Keyleth is a half elf to a lot of people because of the twins episodes. Basically that Keyleth doesn't experience any issues due to being a half elf while Vax and vex do. That's purely due to the cultures they grew up in with the Ashari not having the traditional elven superiority. Also I think keyleth might be quarter elf or something. Dnd have a weird thing where all human and elves descendants are half elves stat wise.

Keyleth is a half-elf as well, not an elf, and her expected long lifespan in the show is related to completing Aramente (and being the Voice of the Tempest, as mentioned in this episode). In the game it comes from class feature, but i think narratively it was tied to the same role too.
