a suggestion for just getting it all watched - record and post the raws and figure out editing later? Then they're recorded, and you can just slowly inch through them as you go! And you get to watch it and record your reactions to everything before you risk spoilers :D Idk if it would be a viable option but I am glad you're reacting to this one and I can't wait until you get farther. Inching my own way along and figured I'd add a comment here as I go. And off to the next one

And I had a friend recently schedule a medical appointment that had the choice of "this Tuesday at 7am or five months from now." The idea that for-profit health care successfully keeps the system from getting clogged up with poor people is A) sociopathic, and B) hard to believe when the system is clogged anyway.

Take care of yourself! I'd be all for you doubling up on Steven Universe once your next series falls off. Get those hits. Get that lore. I frequently see in the comments "So-and-so is... complex..." And they are. They all are. Even Gregg. Heck, even Onion has layers (Ha!). People weren't just excited for you to meet Lapis last week. Now it's time to move beyond the 1 dimensional character introductions. You saw a glimpse of it this week with Pearl.

2024-10-04 01:57:35 +0000 UTCYes it is set in a fictionalized US, Beach City is in the fictional state of "Delmarva" which IRL refers to the peninsula shared between the real states of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Wow you caught on to Greg faking it real quick. House Guest is probably my least favorite episode of the season because of the cringe factor that causes, and "Dear Old Dad" is probably the worst song of the whole show. Space Race is a great one though.

I look forward to it soo much that I already did the math for how long it will take you to get to certain big EPs, but I am a very impatient person so I would love two EPs a week or even every other week! However I hope that the two a week won't come at your expense.

So, an alternate United States...but the United States all the same. Duct Tape it like the Force: It has a light side and a dark side and it binds the universe together... ...except on ducts. It doesn't stick to ducts worth a darn. I'm afraid for a while you're only going to get more questions...even from the answers.

For spoiler reasons I won't link to it, but there is a nice youtube video out there that puts them all together in sequence of first appearance. Very pleasingly, the total length of all the ending themes combined is 11 minutes, the length of an episode. Why do I mention spoilers? Because things get interesting in the end themes towards the end of s1.

Beach City is based on the Atlantic Coast of the US, somewhere around the state of Delaware, the beach towns of which were very familiar to the creator as a kid. The alternate name for the 'state' they reside in is Delmarva, which is the name of the peninsula in same region in the real-world part of the country, and is where Delaware, Maryland and Virginia are in close proximity along the seashore. I grew up around there, so I actually recognize a lot of the reference to places and shops mentioned in the show!
