Thank you for that! Really good to know. I do agree with a few others here that if you chip the leaves a few times before the end of the fall season, that helps.

I've looked into a pond, but takes large equipment/time/expense. We considered it when we were wondering what to do with all the flooding on our land. Couple years back we had an excavator widen the creek and create two channels to better direct the flow of water. It worked, but there are a couple spots we still experience flooding due to overfill of creek.

Hi NG I agree with hubby concerning the leaves on the grass . You have so much land and floods in the spring , did you ever consider a retention pond to collect a lot of water from spring flooding .? A large pond with the sprinkler in the center for Airation , it should help carry you through a good portion of the dry spells 🤔 see ya , hope your feeling better .

My father had a degree in agriculture from Texas A&M and he would agree with you. I don’t know about the leaves but our grass was always deeper than that of any of our neighbors. He told me that it protects the grass from the Texas heat.
