Well I got bored enough to watch this episode :p First, thanks for your reaction. I too felt like something was missing from the episode, and the acting was weird also, it wasn't that great for some reason. I think the episode had potential, but it wasn't executed well. It's a pass, and thankfully just a freak of the week type episode, so we can forget about it lol On to the next.

However, huuge props to Scully for believing uh, I forget her name in the episode already, I'll just call her Dr Frasier. Props to Scully for believing she was actually raped, even though Frasier said the person was invisible. Ridiculous they were trying to say she gave herself those injuries. Also - kinda surprised Mulder was so skeptical and didn't wonder about the possibility of at least an Incubus (a (male, female being a Succubus) spirit that rapes/sexually assaults their victim) or something.

2021-05-28 22:13:09 +0000 UTCYeah, definitely not the best of episodes. Like Emptysea said, very unfocused. Feels like they just started writing and introducing paranormal events and never had an end goal in mind. Also poor doc Fraiser. That was really hard to watch.

2021-05-28 18:24:33 +0000 UTCYeah this one is not great. I think the biggest problem is that it felt unfocused. On the one hand it deals with rape and the unfortunate realities of some people not believing victims or blaming them, then on the other hand they deal with elder abuse and dementia. Then to top it all off they deal with alternative medicine and psychotropic drugs. It is three heavy controversial subjects, none of which are really explored into depth. They barely introduce these controversial topics, tie them together with ghosts, and then it ends. I feel like this should have been three separate episodes. Luckily these themes, or variations of them, are explored in much better ways and in more depth in other episodes later on.

It was especially tough to see poor dr Fraiser in that situation, but I think they handled the subject matter well. Scully who's usually so skeptic didn't once say she didn't believe the victim, even with the invisibility part. And that blonde lady was the worst! Completely useless in every situation.
