Isn't the font it should be, and you're not the first person to think it's not quite right. https://www.reddit.com/r/XFiles/comments/3re9oa/lets_talk_about_the_font_change/ 2. The quality drop at one point that you commented on? Also connected to the same thing... Like a lot of TV from this era, it's had to be remastered for modern widescreen HD consumers, but it wasn't made that way originally, it was Standard Definition and 4:3 (at least in the beginning). Most of X-Files was recreated from the original film negatives that it was shot on, which were re-scanned at 1080p. Unfortunately, not every scene still existed, with the most common issues being establishing shots of buildings that were just stock footage (not shot by the x-files crew), and some visual effects shots that would have been difficult to recreate.
