Shame about Odyssey 5 ending on a pivotal cliffhanger. "Seven Days" was another excellent cult watch from the 90's. No DVD release but it's widely available online in reasonably high quality.

2021-09-12 03:26:00 +0000 UTCYeah this is one of the worst episodes of the entire series.

2021-01-12 23:41:30 +0000 UTCI think I caught 3 this time. I was expecting more Maybourne.

2020-11-09 15:42:33 +0000 UTCIf you like this premise, never mind the execution, you should check out the short-lived series Odyssey 5. It's what Showtime picked up after Stargate, then dropped after one season in favor of less sci-fi centered shows (Weeds, Californication). Odyssey 5 focuses on 5 astronauts who are in space when they witness the earth explode... their rescuer is able to send them back 5 years to stop it from happening. It also addresses the strict NASA standards that you mentioned here. Just a thought when you have time for a one season rabbit hole.

2020-11-09 02:03:22 +0000 UTCWhile a weird ep, still interesting enough because it shows that the show might also dabble in paranormal stuff, and not just aliens, I guess. Every series has its "bad" episodes, so you just have to go through them and know that better stuff is coming.

2020-11-09 02:01:49 +0000 UTCHell, even Chris Carter agrees with you on that.

2020-11-08 22:21:50 +0000 UTCAside from the piss poor morphing effect, I always cringe at that 90s car crash effect where they drop the FPS really low and crank the motion blur up to 11. They clearly had to flip a car over for the shot, but that camera work was a very cheap and obvious way to get out of actually filming a crash stunt.

2020-11-08 19:19:13 +0000 UTCAnd the SG1 actor crossover count for this one is 5, including Col. frickin Maybourne. Also we got the borg queen in here. Regarding whether her voice is dubbed in the scene on the steps, it's likely her voice, just done in ADR because the audio was messed up by the traffic and other noises. Someone's voice is going to sound off if it's recorded in a soundproof studio then pasted over an outdoor setting. Yeah, this is generally considered one of the worst of the series(especially by Chris Carter). It's honestly just really boring and it's not scary in the least to anyone older than 12. Definitely a miss.

2020-11-08 19:08:09 +0000 UTC- Very atypical episode this one. - Pretty sure we got "Believing intensifies" Mulder meme in this episode. - I also thought the face was on the Moon, turns out it's really on Mars - First time I watched this as a kid, I was really creeped out by first scene where the astronaut's face morphs into that alien face. Also, when that alien left astronaut's body, first time I've seen this I thought it's the astronaut's own soul leaving his body and he's desperately trying to grab it. I was pretty worried since then that my soul will just randomly abandon me like that :D - Yeah, effects didn't age well.

2020-11-08 08:39:23 +0000 UTCUh, pretty dull episode but thankfully it's an outlier. They had some good ideas here but the execution didn't quite get there. Always nice to hang out with Scully and Mulder for a bit anyway!

2020-11-08 08:04:07 +0000 UTCTerrible, whichever way you look at it, but for the little boy watching it alone, in the dark, late at night, way back in 1994 when it first aired... this episode was as spooky as f**k! 😨😬😱 I think that's why I still have a bit of a soft spot for this one. It's still rubbish, though, even with Colonel Maybourne. Looking forward to the next one 😉

2020-11-08 03:06:57 +0000 UTCWorst episode of the entire series, IMO.
