2021-10-30 18:03:26 +0000 UTCin the manga Naruto and Kawaki meet in the village hospital (ep192) in the first time when he woke up after we saw how sad his backstory was with the father and a little bit with Jigen as well. episode 190 and 191 are anime canon episodes BUT like you said showing Kawaki's reaction to like the needle,the dog, Sumire&Nue and etc so I'm glad the anime did this way before that even if it's feels like filler for some people!

We watched him for years identifying with people who are called "monster" by other people or have a power or ability that people are afraid of. I feel it's another point of bonding that he has with Boruto with his Kama. Everytime I rewatch an episode more of the subtlety becomes apparent. Sidenote: I enjoy hearing you read the comments too. It makes my day, too.
