Quick Progress Report
Added 2022-11-28 22:25:57 +0000 UTCOkay, so...I have...good news? Well, it's good new for you guys, anyway. It's super annoying news for me on a personal level. Anyway, said news is that the oral surgery I was supposed to have tomorrow got canceled last minute. Not the dentist's fault. Their supplier failed to deliver the physical hardware they needed and they waited until the last possible minute hoping it would show up. But, nope. Which means I get stuck waiting indefinitely while they track down what happened to the shipment (Seriously, sounds like a fetch quest. Maybe they just need to put up a quest board?). Given it's extremely unlikely that it will just be put off a single day, that means it's going to be pushed into December sometime -_-.
While this is super frustrating for me on a personal level, the upside for the Patreon isn't nothing. Specifically that, unless something goes badly wrong somewhere, it's now virtually certain I'll release the Haven's Port build on time. I was already managing to chart a bit ahead of my outlined plan, having completely finished the writing and actually started on the the editing pass even before I got the cancellation call. Without tomorrow tied up with surgery and it's aftermath, I should easily be able to finish the editing and start the testing. With release then being on the 30th, if all goes well.
As for the short story, I'm afraid news is a bit less good on that side of things. I did manage to break through my writer's block there a little bit. But I only managed to get up to about 1,700 words before I had to stop and put 100% focus on Haven's Port. The short story is likely to be a day or too late as a result. But I feel that's a fair trade off for getting the Haven's Port release out on schedule, given everything that's happened this month -_-.
