I know a lot of people roll their eyes at Dead Poets Society, but it's definitely remained relevant to the culture - it's the most watched 1989 film on Letterboxd, and Taylor Swift released a video (and album, sort of) referencing it just last year.

But, I wanted to touch on what Joe said about the movie possibly saying “if you get divorced, let it all go” and that was exactly the message I did take away from this movie. I am now almost 50 and when I someone I know getting divorced and fighting over their house or whatever I just think of this movie and how stuff is never worth it. So, the movie might not work on everyone BUT it worked on 14 year old Amy obviously .
