TC Novel Brainstorming

As I begin planning the novel adaption of TC, I'm going through what aspects of it I plan to change to make the novel version more streamlined than the comic - one of the main changes I'll probably do is having only a few bird species, i.e. having just "Eagles" and "Crows" and "Hawks" as opposed to having all the subspecies of them etc, mostly because a lot of bird names are country specific and that wouldn't work in a world where our continents don't exist haha.
My question for y'all is: what aspects of the comic do you think worked really well and you'd like to also see in the novel? Obviously there will still be bed-sharing y'all know it's my weakness lmao.
I suppose one of the good things about doing the comic first is that I've got all the feedback comments so I'm sort of pre-product testing even haha.

2024-09-07 16:47:36 +0000 UTCyeah I'm def gonna have the chance to lean more into the bird stereotypes, there are more coming up in the comic but I'd like it to be more of a prevalent thing in the novel for sureeeee. And yeah still keeping the big Ky reveal, it's gonna be a test as to writing it in a way that doesn't give it away, especially when writing in his POV, but I'm excited for itttttt (we love an unreliable narrator).

Would be hilarious to see all the crows getting distracted around shiny stuff. I liked the slow reveal of hiw athletic/military competent Ky was when he was faking being a kook
