Netflix isnt being greedy, Oda has always been jealous about how popular worldwide Naruto is, when one piece is mostly just japan. (why they did the live action) Also, lets not pretend like the story isnt LONG AF . The anime will finish well before they get close with the remake. No such thing as too much one piece!

2023-12-21 07:57:52 +0000 UTCI haven't seen it but know of it, it's a spin-off, not a remake or anything.. There's 113 chapters for SE and the anime changes the direction of the story and characters by chapter 32 which is like episode 36 out of 51. There is so much that goes down later, story, tons of characters, etc. that the current anime didn't even touch cause it ended so early cause the manga wasn't done yet and the anime caught up to it so they just rushed and created their own ending. Kind of like what happened with game of thrones.

There's something really odd about remaking something that's an ongoing series, especially when it's rumored to be five more years before it's over? But then I thought about how Oda supposedly hoped the Live Action would make people so curious and in love with the story that they'd be interested enough to start watching the anime and/or reading the manga. So, it makes sense that creating new animation for the beginning of One Piece could bring even more people into the series and even people who quit watching to potentially start it over again. And as you said, Wit Studios has a positive reputation so it's very likely to be done well. And as a relatively new fan of One Piece (two years), I rewatch the beginning over and over again every time I watch a new reaction channel...so it really wouldn't be that bad having another version of the anime to watch (especially with updated fight scenes). I also like the idea of it drawing more attention to One Piece overall so that I'll possibly have more people in my real life to be able to talk to about it. Edit: Also, about posting on YT...I tend to stay about 5-10 episodes behind the current anime series, which means sometimes recommended videos on YT show me thumbnails from other channels that are spoilers, especially when they post reactions to reading the manga. So, in order to try avoid that, I actually watch One Piece reaction vids in another browser and not logged into my YT account and keep up with them via bookmarks. Plus, some reaction channels are watching series of other animes I'm behind on (like Attack on Titan's final season), so seeing titles and thumbnails in a subscription feed can be spoilery as well. Long story short, I'm not subscribed on YT. lol. If there's a One Piece related video that you mentioned posting on there that isn't on Patreon, I'm willing to go there to watch. So mentioning it would be enough, but I personally wouldn't mind if you uploaded everything to Patreon as to not miss them. Either way works for me.
