Cursed to Infinity Chapter 25

The steak lunch went alright though it's asian grilling style took me a moment to get used to. Either way, once the meal was done and this bratty Gojo had gotten done verbally trying to bully me, seeing as she couldn't mess with me physically.

She left us with the bill as she just teleported away as one final dig at us. "Well that went well. I was somewhat worried that you and she would end up destroying a few buildings." Mei Mei said with a small smile as we loaded back up into her SUV.

"Thankfully... She teleported us straight to Tokyo Jujutsu Tech, and into a sparring ring. Now, Mei Mei, could you drive us to TJT's hospital? Toji called in a favor to me to have me heal some of his buddies."

The first-grade sorcerer hummed in acknowledgment, and while riding towards presumably the hospital, Ui Ui obviously asked how the fight went. And I gleefully told them that although I couldn't win against a fight or at least a sparring match with Gojo. She herself couldn't touch me either.

The drive and hospital visit weren't that eventful besides having to deal with some... Weird, spiritually based curses that Shoko's more brute force biology manipulation through Reverse Cursed Energy couldn't deal with.

Like a poor bastard whose tongue was cursed by the 'Bad Touch' Devil after killing it and his tongue was turned into a large dick that hung past his chin and when his heart beat rose it would become erect.

Some really weird shit, honestly... And I was one of the few people who could heal such issues while also breaking the curses laid on the person at the root. Sure if someone had an arm ripped off, Shoko could put them right as rain...

But when someone is cursed to have flesh-eating invisible worms writhing through their body. Reversed Cursed Energy would in some cases, just feed said curses or spiritual abilities that were basically a curse.

"Haaa... At least almost all of the known STD Devils are dead for a few years at least for now." I groaned with relief after getting through all of Toji's people he asked me to heal.

And now Mei Mei, and Ui Ui were escorting me through the hospital's massive parking lot as we prepared to head off.

Then, as we reached our SUV, I paused as I saw our SUV was parked on ALL sides, including behind and in front of it, by large blacked-out vans with no windows that belonged on a child safety warning poster.

"Jake Bariss, I presume?" A calm male voice rang out, and I saw as Mei Mei took her giant axe from her back and stepped partly forward as Ui Ui grabbed my arm to teleport me away if needed.

And from between the van's came a man with a... Painfully normal appearance. Wearing a clean-cut business suit, he strode forward while carrying a somewhat large business briefcase that swung with his steps.

"May I help you?" I asked bluntly as I readied myself to yell out a Fus-Ro-DAH to yeet the bastard and all his vans away if he displayed any hostility.

To which the man smiled and said with a calming motion with both his hands rising. "Please, Jake, I mean no insult or hostile intent. My name is Toshiro Samsung, and I have a business offer for you."

The name Samsung most definitely rang a bell as even in this shit hole of a world, Samsung was a major... Major business group but Mei Mei cut in with a cool tone.

"His nickname is The Casual Butcher. He is a top-grade assassin and the current head of the Hunter's Association." 

Her words weren't just a heads-up as to who this guy was. But also a warning of how dangerous he was as I knew all to well that the Hunter's of the Hunters Association had their reputations built on a mountain of corpses.

Not just the corpses of monsters, demons, spirits, devils or other threats to humanity... No they lived life by the creed of the strongest being in control and it wasn't uncommon for them to kill other humans that stepped on their toes.

"What do you want then?" I said bluntly as my Cursed Energy roiled to enhance my senses while a dozen men and women in combat suits or casual clothes stepped out of the vans to block the sight of our little meeting from the other people wandering the parking lot.

These were clearly hunters who were following this man on this little so-called business meeting.

Toshiro's plain smile died at Mei Mei's words, and he said rather coolly. "I do not like that name... Makes me sound like a madman or a sociopath when all my actions are based on profit and good business." 

Mei Mei herself stepped back and I realized it was to be easily within reach of Ui Ui and then the man took a breath and said calmly. "Jake, I have heard some rather interesting things of note that will interest you. And I am willing to share them with you if you are willing to do me a favor first."

I raised an eyebrow at that and I said flatly. "And what would I 'Want' to know that I would be willing to do favors for you? I much prefer staying at home and not getting into trouble after all."

He nodded genially and then said rather plainly. "I understand that. I myself would be rather worried when the Control Devil is making moves to control you, who can affect reality with his words... She seems to be under the idea that should she use you as a voice box she can 'Control' the world around her to an unseen level which is something I rather not see."

I just stared at him and said flatly. "I am well aware of Makima's bullshit. What do you actually have for me then?"

He shrugged and said. "According to our reports, you are able to absorb the life force and energy from dragonkin creatures. The Hunter's Association would likewise be willing to trade the information on the locations of such creatures to you for said favors among other things that we can offer."

I knew something was up here... So while giving Ui Ui's hand a squeeze in warning I asked calmly. "Offering so much for just healing when your people can get healed at the hospitals is too much. What do you actually want from me?"

Toshiro gave a thin smile and tilted his head to the side slightly and then said bluntly. "I want you to join the Samsung family and make us stronger with your ability to enhance cursed techniques and spiritual techniques."

My blood ran cold as he looked over blandly at Mei Mei and Ui Ui and said knowingly. "Yes Jake, we are all well aware of your ability to give parts of your power or just... Enhance someone's base cursed technique and such. Is it such a surprise we wouldn't approach?"

And with a quick double squeeze of Ui Ui's hand she snapped forward to grab Mei Mei's wrist, and she teleported us away at my signal back to my house back in the safe walls of Kyoto Jujutsu Tech.

The moment I cleared my head, I cursed aloud and then said with resignation. "How the hell did they figure it out? Hell how did they figure it out so fast? Neither of your extra abilities are anything special?"

To which Mei Mei just sighed and said with a hint of amusement. "They have access to countless devil contracts like the Future Devil or other things that could help them see into the future or have other ways to find secret information."

"And the fact that you are a special grade Sorcerer on the supporting side of things coming out of nowhere means that they would of course look into finding out all your secrets." Ui Ui finished for her elder sister, who nodded in agreement.
