Broken Hearts. Mended Lives Chapter 26

Pulling at my chakra, I decided to fight fire with fire.... Metaphorically speaking anyway. 

Taking a deep breath I did several hand signs and then from my opened mouth came a billowing gale of mist from the Hidden Mist Jutsu and my mist soon intertwined with the mist of the Wendigo's 

After breathing out the thick cloying mist I spoke calmly as the thick mist filled in with the rest and hung low on the ground. "My list is heavier and staying low to the ground, but it's also filled with magic and my scent... Now they are as blind as we are." 

A loud snort of some form but a few meters away rang out with the sound of large hoof-like feet scratching the soft loamy forest floor.

As the figure threw themselves to the side from as they had come so close.

But I didn't react as it was purely a listening game now, with Elsa standing beside me armed with her own long knife made out of Cold Iron. Ahri herself was watching us from behind as well.

A thick gargling whimper of pure hunger rang out as though a signal and then the situation exploded into violence as the mist parted with the Wendigo's rushed towards us like a pack of wolves.

'Flamebreath jutsu!' I thought as I had already finished a longer form of hand signs during the tense moment.

And from my mouth came an endless stream of high pressure, and extremely hot flames that washed over everything in front of me.

I could feel Ahri holding onto my back slightly with Elsa moving along as we worked together to spin in a circle with the girls beside or behind me as I washed the surrounding forest in flames.

The supernatural mist of the Wendigo's along with my own was pushed back and evaporated by the flames of my creation, and with the mist being pushed back we could see the two dozen odd Wendigo's as they rolled across the ground attempting to put out the supernatural blue flames that resulted in them being lit on fire.

But all to soon I could see the mist closing back in as was the result of the group of the Wendigo's... So after a moment of thought, I grimaced before I halved the rest of my chakra as I created a shadow clone with the mental orders of using weak wind jutsu to keep the mist back.

From there I jumped off the thick stone walls I created to protect Hinata with Annika who was watching out for Hinata in particular. 

And before I could even reach one of the Wnedigo's my lips twitched as Elsa all but teleported using her vampiric speed that was so further augmented from regularly feeding sessions from my own blood. 

That I had no doubt that she was getting close to an elder vampire's speed if not coming close to the noble vampire's speed.

And with that blur of a speed that even I couldn't follow with my chakra-augmented body, I watched as she skillfully sped past several Wendigos that had put out the flames across their body and stood up.

But her running past them wasn't the point, as she with every Wendigo past, used insane speed and momentum to slide that Cold Iron large knife into the Wendigo's throat, and if she didn't decapitate the beast she at least shattered their vertebrae in their necks.

'Fire or lightning?' I thought as I wondered how I should get into the fight properly.

And in that span of though I saw a purple orb of compressed... Hunger, there was no other way to describe the purple orb of Ahri's life-hunting spirit ball that shot out from her hands and I watched as the orb shot directly through one of the Wendigo's.

As the orb shot into the Wendigo I saw that it's form had cracks running through it, as though Ahri's orb had stolen all the cohesion of the monster's body. Then as the orb came back through the Wendigo as it returned to Ahri's hand.

I saw that the orb was filled with the very Wendigo's monstrous soul energy with Ahri easily absorbing and devouring the essence as the orb landed back in her hands.

With that distracting sight down with, however, I finished a couple more hand signs and I spoke. "Fire flower jutsu," I spoke as I infused my chakra with the random plums of remaining flames that filled the area.

And then those pockets of flames grew in height and power and then large spinning ninja star-like flowers shot out from the bonfire-like flames with those 'solid' flame projections zipping through the air as they went for the Wendigo's.

Although without practicing this Jutsu too much in particular I wasn't able to control the flying ninja star's made out of fire that well. But honestly, that wasn't the point, the flame constructs were more of a distraction as Ahri and Elsa used their magic and speed to carve through the remaining wendigo's 

With every second basically another Wendigo dying or at least being decapitated. Allowing me to finally get physically into the fight with myself using a Chidori to zip into towards one of the larger surviving Wendigo's and channel the Chidori through the oversized knife I carved through the Wendigo's chest.

A few more moments passed by, and soon enough the sounds of battle died out as the last Wendigo was cut down by Elsa who was looking poised to continue even as the supernatural mist faded around us as the Wendigo's were being properly killed off by Ahri using her spirit orb.

Then Annika casually called out pitifully. "Jake! Let us out!" Utterly ruining the pride I felt at our three versus like twenty monsters slaying scene.

With Annika calling out with some worry. "Wait! If I don't get any monster kills, does that mean I don't get any blood either???"
