Pokemon, Multiversal Streamer Chapter 16

A couple of days passed by in which Ai Hoshino and I got a bit closer and we became actual friends how we had basically agreed to be travel companions for now while I broke ground in getting Vaporeon or Diva to actually battle for me.

While I kept working my Feebas into the ground to make her stronger so her aura would get strong enough to make her levitate off the ground like other stronger water types could.

And now it was eleven thirty. Just half an hour from my battle with Brock and I was sitting down with Ai in the waiting room as we watched Brock having his Onix beat the dogshit out of a poor Charmander whose younger trainer had no idea how to make the first evolution fire type remotely match the giant stone pokemon.

I patted Rose's head as I pointed at the Onix and said. "Rose, that big stone type is rather durable and fire attacks don't work well against stone types. So we gotta have you teleport around the corners of the battlefield and just use confusion from a distance alright?"

Rose gave me a pitiful pout as her mind touched mine and I could feel her thoughts translating over as she grumped out. "I can burn the stone away! I saw my mother do it to the metal version of those things." 

Talking with Rose was less about solid words and more of her sending impressions and even memories to me... And dear fucking god, seeing Rose's Alpha Gardevoir mother pissed off was terrifying as she used her own Mystic Fire that was elevated into Ho-Ho's rainbow flames to melt a fucking Steelix.

Rose proudly poked my cheek with her saying. "See! With strong enough flames even metal and stone with shatter and melt under my fury!"

My lips twitched as technically... She wasn't wrong but she still wasn't to that level yet so I patted Rose on the head as I wondered how in the hell Rose's mother could use Sacred Fire?

But I shook my head as Ai spoke quietly as we watched Brock patting the younger trainer on the shoulder as he gave him some advice on where he went wrong. "Are you ready for this Jake?" 

Giving a wry smile I shrugged and said. "I have Diva to finish off Onix after Rose deals with Brocks two Geodudes. In the worst case, Feebas should have the time to get off a couple Dragon's Breath attacks even if she cannot properly float off the ground yet. His Onix can and will be the main issue but I will win with certainty." 

Brock was Kanto's 'first' Gym leader of choice for a good reason for young trainers and people getting into Pokemon training for a simple reason. His whole gyms theme was simply by being prepared you could defeat his gym with some cunning.

"So can I expect you to cheer for me?" I teased Ai slightly making her roll her eyes and give my arm a small push as she stuck out her tongue and retort.

"I am here, aren't I? Of course, I am going to cheer you on at least for your gym battles!" 

And right after she said that the chat pinged out.

[Princess of Ruination- This is racial discrimination for Devils, why can't I just come and see the Gym battle live? I won't interfere or anything!?"]

My lips twitched at Rias's whining and even Ai giggled seeing that from the chat bar on her own minature system and I tilted my head to the side and asked my system.

"Actually... Why can't she come? Or anyone else even if they have to accept like a seal or something on their powers that comes off after they leave or if they are attacked?" 

For a couple of minutes the system was quiet and I looked around and took in the empty waiting room with only Ai with me but finally the system responded as though it needed to consider it. 

[Kreigan/Admin- After you unlock more system privileges in defeating Brock and gain a gym badge we will allow powered individuals to visit with a seal on their supernatural heritage so that powerful beings in the Pokemon world will not be able to sense them... And likewise, get Arceus to come smite a literal devil walking his world.]

[Princess of Ruination- Woohoo! Finally progress is being made!]

[Thorn Princess- Does this affect me taking a vacation and coming to visit in anyway? I would like to come and play with some of these Pokemon as well.]

[Maou/Mod- 'Thorn Princess' So long as you don't start doing "work" here in the Pokemon world we don't have any issues with you coming.]

Seeing the chat going on about that, I gave a wane smile before I stilled as I heard a buzzer go off from the room's intercom. "Jake Barris, attention Jake Barris your battle with Gym Leader Brock is in ten minutes, please prepare yourself and allow your friend to go to the stands to watch."

Ai gave me a pat on the knee and said with a small grin. "Well seeing as you are so confident i will go on ahead. It's not like you are going to need a kiss for good luck!" She teased at the end with a small flush entering her cheeks as she danced away from me and went out the side door leading up to the stands.

[Worst Teacher- Wow talk about lost opportunities.] 

I rolled my eyes as I retorted flatly. "Gojo you are the only one who has gotten struck by lightning and punished by the system." 

[Worst Teacher- Yeah so what? No one else was interesting enough for the system to need to punish them. Even Princess of Ruination with all her whining never got struck by lightning because she is too weak to even survive a bolt a lightning.]

'Thats not something to be proud of?' I thought as I got up and went into the battle arena in which my battle with Brock would be taking place in.

And taking in the arena's setting I mused that the flat arena with a number of rock outcroppings would give Rose some more space to teleport around at least.

The surroundings were darkened as though I was in a dimly lit cave and I knew that this arena reflected the surrounding mountains and the many mines and tunnels that went through Mount Moon which got me thinking.

'Hmm, should I try to get a Clefairy from Mount Moon? I mean I got a soon-to-be dragon type, a water type, and a psychic type with good move coverage. What should the next Pokemon I capture be?' I mused as I thought it over with all due importance.

I wanted a Pokemon that had great potential but wasn't going to be an insane hassle to train like the Salamence and Tyranitar lines that took literal years on average to train them out of their molting middle stages.

'A Blaziken would be awesome... That was my favorite Pokemon from the best region. Hmm but how would I get a Torchic or even a Combusken?' I thought before shaking off my thoughts as I needed to get my head into the game.

A couple minutes later Brock seemingly finished his little break and had changed out his Pokemon as he strode out and spoke. "Jake Barriss! This is your first official Gym Battle, so you will be allowed to use up to six Pokemon to defeat my own team. As an accredited psychic of the Kanto region, you are not allowed to touch my mind or otherwise attack me while we are battling. Doing so will result in your instant loss and being barred from the gym circuit for an indeterminate amount of time." 

I gave a weak smile at hearing how the gyms would already know about me being a psychic but with how Team Galactic brought up tensions between Kanto and Sinnoh, I can't be surprised parts of my files got more attention.

So giving a nod of understanding I said. "I wouldn't do something so dishonorable during a Gym battle anyway but thank you for the warning Brock." 

Brock looked about the same as he did in canon with darker skin and muscles that came from naturally working a hard job in wrangling stones and stone pokemon around. And he was definitely in his more serious mode as he gave a shallow nod at my words and continued.

"You are an older trainer, and even if this is your first badge I have to ask. Do you have any third-evolution Pokemon currently? This is for the safety of my own Pokemon."

I shook my head with Brock placing two red and white Pokeballs and a blue and white Greatball onto the little holders at the front of our raised points so we could see over the battlefield due to all the car-sized boulders that filled the stadium's ground arena level.

"Any questions before we begin Jake?" Brock asked one final time and again I shook my head with him pointing at a timer on the wall. "Alright then when this counts down from ten you will throw your Pokemon out." 

At his words, however, Rose who was on my shoulder skipped off and landed on the podium put up her dukes, and boxed towards Brock as though telling him to come get some. With him chuckling at knowing who was to come. 

A loud buzzing noise rang out and with a mental prod Rose hopped down off the standing podium and fell into the arena while Brock threw out a Pokeball and called out. "Alright go ahead Geodude!"

Brocks Geodude was a normal Geodude, a floating round rock with a face and two thin arms that allowed them to move better and fight. "Geodude!" The Geodude pointed at the Ralts and knowing that battle had already started I mentally synched up with Rose and said. "Go ahead, Mystic Fire." 

Ralts held her hands to her side with the mystical fire blooming to life within her hands that were aimed at her side and then Brock yelled. "Geodude, use rollout on the Ralts!"

As the Geodude rolled over towards Rose with malicious intent I could feel Rose's anticipation as the Geodude got closer and then when he got close enough Rose threw the the charged mystic fire towards the Geodude with the beam like Mystic Fire shooting across the ground in a wave of burning fey fire.

The Geodude rolled through the flames though with me quickly ordering Rose to dodge to the side with Rose diving away from the ground cracking Geodude who smashed into one of the rock outcroppings breaking off a bowling ball sized chunk of rocks from the large boulder with the force of the impact.

"Geodude, use Defense Curl!" And the Geodude rolled across the ground with a rock aura around it that picked up the broken rocks and added more armor to its rock form.

"Rose use Disarming Voice." I spoke out loud and Rose called out a loud 'Ralts' that sent a shockwave of sound that smashed into the Geodude and slammed it back into the boulder it had extracted itself out. "Again!" I called out.

But Brock ordered quickly. "Use Dig Geodude!" The beam of compressed sound waves smashed into the boulder making it crumble more but the Geodude had managed to dig into the ground like it was diving into the water so I mentally ordered Rose to jump onto one of the arena's boulders before a thought struck me.

"Rose pour Mystic Fire into the hole from where it dug into," I spoke and I felt Rose's glee at my order as she skipped across the stones dotting the arena and even as Brock watched trying to direct Geodude through the ground and into a position in which the Pokemon could attack Rose from underneath her, he couldn't react quick enough as Rose held up her hands above her head as though she was gathering the power for a Spirit Bomb.

"Geodude get ready here it comes!" Brock yelled and I saw as the ground rose from a bit away from where the Geodude had dug away from its initial hole but by then Rose had smashed the beach ball-sized collection of Mystic Flames into the too-small hole and then with the holes compressed size the rushing flames of the mystic fire rushed through the hole's short tunnel.

A loud explosion rang out along with the Geodude screaming its name as it was blasted out of the ground and through the air as the tunnel compressed and made the flames even more powerful.

"Alright, Geodude that's enough." I heard Brock yell and then the Geodude was captured in a Pokeball with Brock giving me a measured look as he said. "That modified flame thrower was a good idea but bigger rock types can easily make larger tunnels so don't expect that strategy to always work out." 

I took a deep breath and nodded as I looked at Rose who looked only slightly a bit winded from using several powerful mystical fires and the disarming voices and said. "Alright lets continue." 

With Brock grunting in agreement and taking out the next red and white Pokeball and called out. "Good, then let's see how you deal with a stronger and more well-trained Geodude!"

And from the Pokeball came another Geodude but this one was a good deal bigger making me think that this one was likely getting ready to evolve into a Graveler maybe.
