Gonna add my voice, if you want to do Tinker Tailor KB.. do that one. Plus it fits your anglophile tendencies. There was that US movie too from 2011, which was OK, had a stellar cast - but there's something about that BBC adaptation from 1979 that's really atmospheric - go check it out KB if you can.

Veep is great, The Thick Of It will always be first, but Veep is very close in terms of muppetry - also has a great cast - I'd watch with KB if he was up for it.

Thank you! I knew I recognised her - she was Maggie's old friend and the horrendously cowed daughter of pantomime director "Bunny" in the "Les Dennis" episode of Extras, she's great.

It's been bugging me this whole episode, but I've finally checked Imdb and found that I know the new brunette is Rebecca Gethings has actually been in a couple of thing I've seen. But she was also in Extras, David Brent: Life on the road and Casino Royale. So I'm a bit surprised you didn't notice her face at all.

Oh, this is it. This is Malcolm's description of Star Wars. I thought this was in the first series.
And fuck it. Go watch Doctor Who from series 5 to 10. Even just secretly, on your own, so no-one can moan about only watching 2 out of 15+ Doctor's. Just be sure to check Wikipedia once in a while, because there'll always be specials and online mini(epi)sodes that you might not know were in between series'.

I can't wait either. I was going to watch this last night after the Nosferatu review, but I got tired real fast.

I dipped in and out of it when it was on, but probably only watched around 25% of it in total. Would be great to watch it fully through Boomer.

Any time Star Wars comes up, I think back to that line, "he's got a tin foil pal and a pedal bin"

I have seen every episode myself, and still I fully agree it would be cool to watch along.

Watching KB guffaw and struggle for oxygen in the middle of one of Malcolm's profanity-ridden rants is one of the internet's great pleasures.

I never watched Dr Who no interest, but if Peter Capaldi, played Dr who as Malcolm Tucker, Whole other ball game

I think the old TV series is so much better than the recent movie, despite the movie having an excellent cast. I'm pretty sure the original series and Smiley's people were both on YouTube in their entirety or at least were when I lived in America about 10 years back. I'd be great to see a reaction to them, but its a little outside of the usual comedy stuff so I won't hold my breath.

It's okay, Boomer, these short 4 seasons have endless rewatchability as you've probably already surmised. This and Lord of the Rings, every couple of years. It's good medicine.

Yes, that's the one. Top class cast. It is 7 episodes. I love the slow pace of it, allowing for proper character and plot development. A 2 hour film can't easily do that.

Malcolm basically sitting in the cafe pretending to Nicola that he's actually off doing something good for her and getting himself away from all the political twattery at Opposition HQ.

Is that the original 70's BBC series with Alec Guinness as Smiley? I vaguely remember a great British cast in that as well. They would be a great watch but would need top concentration to take it in.

The Alec Guinness version is exceptional. It was a miniseries so they had 7 episodes to work with a very complicated story, though I do like the film too.

The BBC TTSS adaptation and it's sequel, Smiley's People, are on BBC iPlayer. You could try using a VPN to access. Both superb. A great cast and everyone on top form. As they are spread over several episodes, you get a much better appreciation of George Smiley and his quiet, ruthless ability. The film is good, but it's a shadow of the series. If you want to start reacting to some drama series, this should be top of the list.

Glorious as ever KB - lovely thing to enjoy on a dull Monday. Subdued scheming Malcolm in opposition is almost more terrifying than his previous persona. It's all good character development though. The next episode is... well you'll see!
"Out of The Thick Of It" was a series of short webisodes that went along with S3, and they were on the DVD for that series also, wouldn't be too worried about those, unless you really want to be completist about it.
S4 has 7 episodes - and that's your lot.

There’s a few versions of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy… could be worth watching them especially the Alec Guinness one
And you really really need to watch Slow Horses, it’s the oerfect Venn diagram between Le Carre, Bond and Thick of It
