Brass Eye S1 Ep4 "Sex" REACTION!

I was worried going in and now I am worried going out!

Brass Eye S1 Ep4 "Sex" REACTION!

Comments

I don’t remember watching this episode originally. With hindsight, it seems even more weird and creepy than the Paedogeddon episode. I guess it must have had loads of complaints anyway.

John Cartwright

13:24 it’s not *that* funny! Haha

John Cartwright

With "The actor Kevin Eldon" im sure that was the Euro trash set

mav

Redacted.

Jason Scade

They couldn't make this show these days. Such a shame.

Daniel Monney

Posting from the future, both minutes of this reaction that made it to YouTube were great.

Z is for Zed

Great reaction, i love this episode. I wish Morris would do a new show but I’m not sure he would get away making something like this nowadays.

James Ellison

i really hope at some point we can see JAM on here , its deffo the final boss , the best. even if its in the future i can wait :P just hope you are considering doing it at some point :) peace

TheHigh

Claire Rayner is cockney slang for trainers, "Where's my Claire's?"

Sean Riley

I wonder if he knew something about Peter Tatchell back then? Wasn't it him who fairly recently defended having sex with underage kids, if they consented?

Steve UK

Also, when he started getting turned on when trying to console the rape victim. 'It is as easy as that, as easy as you'. Outrageous stuff, but a great parody of the shows of that time.

Richie

The bit when he told the man with AIDS that if a gunman broke into the studio and shot him, and somebody was yawning and his blood went into their mouth they’d get his “ Bad AIDS” has always cracked me up.

Rob Palmer

Alexander, of course. Cheers, mate. I knew that, was getting his first name and Mark Strong (the actor) mixed up.

Jason Scade

That Belgian show was... ...dirty.

David Lyons

It's Alexander not Mark, but yes that's him...

Stuart Gunpowder

The Phil Neville

Jamie

@19:04 Jeremy Kyle took much inspiration from this.

Luke Barton

Try not to be so nervous with these. It’s ultimately just first class satire and very funny stuff. Worse thing that can happen is that you don’t laugh.

Luke Barton

Hilarious ep and reaction. 😂😂😂 Pretty dark. 20:45 The guy dressed in Stars and Stripes yelling to the press.. is that actor Mark Armstrong (from Armstrong & Miller) ? Blink and you'll miss it.

Jason Scade

That's Belgium for you...

Will

That thumbnail. 😅 Looking forward to this one! Press play.

Jason Scade

Eurotrash was good wank material pre internet

Mr Snrub

I only became aware of it during a pub quiz, "what is a slang term for the perineum, which is also the name of a former English Cricketer".

AdamMcAdamface

The Paedogeddon Special is the third most complained-about episode of television ever (first and second are the Jerry Springer Opera and Big Brother 2000).

Smiffy

Yeah eurotrash was hilarious, i think the one i always remember is the naked german cleaners, the dubbed voices were incredible :D

Fenn

There was a banned episode to do with kids I thought this was it but I can't remember any of this apart from him saying you got bad aids. . I forgot why it was banned

Marvelous Dolcy

Oh shit. I did a rewind and you may be right! 😮

Marvelous Dolcy

I laughed when you braced yourself and said "remember it's not real", knowing that the first line was "If this were really happening what would you think?" in the middle of something all too real!

RA Keogh

Makes me chuckle that it was directed by Michael Cumming too, is the word Felch ever used much in America? It was a very common word which always caused much hilarity at that time in the UK, it's means sucking semen out of an anus with a drinking straw, me and my friends would use it at least 3 times a day! The same director also directed Snuff Box, Rock Profiles and Toast of London amongst other things, he also made an anniversary special about Brasseye which I'm yet to see but apparently it will never be released and can only be watched at organised live viewings, he also directed an excellent documentary film called 'King Rocker' which was written by Stewart Lee.

Mark Jones

No it was never banned. You might be thinking of the one off paedogeddon special which was aired twice before receiving record complaints, mostly from people that hadn't seen it and only read about it in the daily mail. With that special they said they wouldn't repeat it but it wasn't actually banned.

RA Keogh

18:14 yeah it's called Tinder

Tej Sandhu

I thought 'the gush' was part of this, but that was Jam wasn't it. That'll blow KB's head off.

Dave Roberts

Absolutely incredible TV. I forgot how brilliant this episode is. Killed me.

Kane Le-Petit

The BBC turned down Brass Eye. TBH Only Channel 4 could pull it off. It was created as a government owned public service broadcaster (with ads unlike the BBC) with a remit to “break the norm” and operate (paradoxically) fiercely independent of the government. The long-gone Channel 4 soap opera Brookside had the first onscreen lesbian kiss around the same time. Even then, the Channel 4 CEO at the time, Michael Grade managed to tone down Brass Eye. Chris Morris responded by inserting a still frame declaring “Grade is a c**t” in the episode Decline.

Daniel Nesbitt

that naked belgian man riding round in a play pen clip was mocking a show called eurotrash that used to show the weirdest and most degenerate things in European culture.....it was even weirder than that.

R Lawrence

weirdly most English people didn't know what gooch meant when that was on tv cause it was american slang. I think most people know now though from this or that american comedy

R Lawrence

As if this show wasn't fucking with your head enough KB, I saw the guy @15.40 and thought that's gotta be a young Ricci Harnett who plays the Carlton character in your fav movie of all time........Rise of the Footsoldier. Don't worry, I checked and it isn't. Maybe that would have pushed you over the edge.

Oliver

I hope so. It was probably a bit heavy going into it cold, but like the rest of Brass Eye it's still brilliant and relevant.

Charlie

Did Morris try to drop the Jimmy Savile bomb at 6:19 lol

Richie

Great reaction! Really hope you do the Jam series after this. Incase you weren’t aware, the actress at 15:35 and 22:35 played Sonia in I’m Alan Partridge!

Jon B

Have been waiting for this one - amazing reaction, the best yet! I'll always say that episodes 1-6 are the peak of British TV satire. Made in 1997, before the web could affect the reception of TV shows, and way before social media. There's never been anything close to it since.

Richie

Great reaction. Not sure a show has brought you as close to a laughing death as this one.

Ash X

Pretty sure he'll give it another go, and love it. Went in to it blind a couple of years ago with no idea what Morris' shows were about.

Lawson Briggs

I don’t think you’ve ever laughed as hard on this channel as you did at that Navy part 😂

Violet Linnington

glad to see you survive it!😱👏👏😂😂💜

Adam Hale

KB said he and QB tried watching it a couple of years back and couldnt get through it. I wonder if he'll try again lol

Lorna B

Hmmm i dunno, Eurotrash was hilarious and shocking but it didnt have the same undertone of pure social mockery that Brasseye did, which gives it its edge imo, plus it goes places no other tv show would dare lol. Eurotrash was funny though, after all these years the bit that still sticks with me was the adult baby with the giant cot and his "wet nurse" with the massive latex tubes hanging from her chest 🙈. Eurotrash WAS wild!

Lorna B

By the end you look like you just made it onto the last chopper out of Saigon! The things you've seen cannot be unseen

Patrick Coyle

pretty sure this one was banned or taken down? shock tv was all the rage and shocked people filled the media

rtkeane

if you struggle with this, you wont be able to handle an entire series of eurotrash

Dave Jones

With regards to complaints, I don't think the original broadcasts of Brass Eye were watched by all that many people, but we're a couple of episodes away from one of the most controversial and complained-about British television broadcasts ever, so brace yourself. If you thought this one was near the knuckle then I can't wait to see the reaction to Paedogeddon. I also always found it quite funny that the background music in the drill scenes on HMS Watford was "The Things We Do For Love" by 10cc.

Charlie

I've been wondering where this was too, lol. Only 40 minutes into your Dr. No review, so I'll be back.

Joe Thornhill

Good luck trying to edit that one for Youtube! 😂

Jay

Yup, it's the independence from money worries that makes great art

Jamie

Am I going to hell for hoping that you'd be sipping on your Coffee when that opening scene came on?

AdamMcAdamface

I don’t think there’s any way you could possibly cut this to make it get by on YouTube. It’d be like 3 minutes long XD

Spoingus

One of my all time favourites. Just had to watch the 1st few minutes to see the reaction. It did not disappoint. 😂 Classic Will catch up with the whole reaction later!

Duncan Hart

and the opening scene does you...👀👊👏😂😂💜

Adam Hale

The funniest thing to me about Brasseye is that Channel 4 who broadcast it is a state owned company 😅 but it somewhat makes sense, a private company who broadcast things like this or the inbetweeners might be too worried about their reputation to go ahead.

Rach

Everyone is worried when they go in the first time...🤣🤣

Rob webber

wahey let's go!!!👊👌😂💜
