I know you have plenty to react to, but if you do decide to stop Benidorm then The Vicar of Dibley could be a good shout. There’s only 20 episodes, so not massively long. If you do watch it maybe just look up the 1993 changes to the Church of England first, as it makes the first episode make much more sense

2023-12-23 08:30:01 +0000 UTCIt's a hard one KB as I can see clearly that your enthusiasm for Benidorm has dropped off significantly, and nobody can blame you really, Season 4 was a bit of a bust, but it's important to remember that Geoffrey Hutchings (Mel) died very shortly before filming the christmas special and beginning of S4 filming, and he had become an integral part to the storyline of the Garvey family, so they had to basically rip up season 4 and cobble something together at the last moments, Season 4 ended up being a bit rushed and wasn't great. HOWEVER, you've only got 1 more episode of season 4, and it's a really important episode in the story it creates heading into season 5 and it's a good story, and S5 E1 introduces a new character that becomes a mainstay and heavily involved in the story, the new character replaces a previously under used role and does a really good job. I would politely suggest maybe finishing the last episode (grit your teeth and just get it done with) and see if the storyline peaks your interest for Season 5, the show does improve in my opinion, I think anyone who has watched Benidorm and enjoyed it can say that S4 really was thrown off by GH's sad death.
