In fact the line "Are you not entertained?" as bellowed by Russell Crowe in Gladiator almost feels like a fourth wall breaking dig at the audience, which I always found amusing. But of course, as KB pointed out, not everyone is smart enough to, on one hand - understand that movies like that are just historical fiction (the pedants), and on the other hand, unable to look past the surface level (the gullible).

I'm an Englishman who loves the subject of history, but I absolutely love the movie Braveheart, even with its exaggerated anti English propaganda and the numerous inaccuracies, especially omitting the history of Robert the Bruce's alliances with English Noblemen. Movies are meant to give an overview of history, and to get people interested. If they were all completely historically accurate, they'd be dull. What they do is provide us with an interest in a historical subject matter, so we can educate ourselves further on the real facts. Movies don't necessarily have to represent complete historical accuracy, they just have to get people interested in history. I don't get why some people are so anal about it.

As for accepting it, I never heard one person here ever say something like “that’s just how it is”. You bring up our healthcare system to any American and they will complain about it. Ok, so you don't want a fully nationalised one like UK and Spain but surely ANYTHING is better than your current thieving system? Germany has an insurance based system, and not only is it better, it's fraction of the cost.

As long as you don't have a complete jobsworth on top then IT don't care as long as it doesn't get them in trouble. It's more likely that we find it funny, tell each other and know exactly what you are into. But where it will come back to bite most people that if you start to get in bad terms with the company, then they will often look towards IT to audit history so they can get any points on you. Wiping does nothing as software is constantly passively watching and logging.

He's actually very distantly related to the current British royal family. Re. watching porn at work, it's weirdly not that uncommon: years ago fresh out of university I was unemployed and got sent on a "course" full of other unemployed people, and found out one of them had previously been fired from a job for looking at what he described as "over-eighteen websites". Side note on the royalty thing, now according to folk lore the word fuck came from taxes on sex, you had to display a sign stating you were Fornicating under contract of the king, hence the abbreviation FUCK, I was going to test thst historical fact on Google but was worried it was a lie and preferred the idea it was true do didn't research it. They absolutely do have Ripper tours, they're garbage though and pointless as all the murder areas are gone and buildings in there places.
