Detective Johnson

For my first drawing of 2024, I thought it would be fun to do a sequel to one of my most beloved early pieces: Officer Johnson. There is a very funny story related to the title of that piece. I had drawn that waaaaay back in the early days before the internet and before I had my "Achilles" identity.

When the internet first started and tickle people were beginning to find content (and each other) online, a number of the earliest drawings I ever did started to pop up on various sites. My drawing of a mustached man having his feet tickled in stocks appeared with the text "Officer Johnson awakened to find his worst nightmare coming true!" added to it. I never knew until just last year that the person who added that text and posted it was none other than my friend Richard of MyFriendsFeet! He did that before his infamous site even existed.

I recolored that old ball point pen drawing I did back when I first launched AchillesHeelArt in 2007. I thought it would be fun to revisit poor Johnson again, in real time. It's been decades since he was first captured and tickled by that madman and he'd had a long career on the force, working his way up to Detective. Too bad his feet are still so damn ticklish...

I thought it would be fun to see these side by side, to see how much my style has evolved over the decades. I think I've gotten a bit better at anatomy, more realistic skin tones and making sexier feet. I've also incorporated some AI tools in this one. Shoutout to my friend @ropedraak who gifted me a month's subscription to Midjourney which I used to create a ton of laughing faces to use as reference, including this one. The abandoned warehouse background was also generated using AI. Oh, and that's my hand used as a model for the tickler in both drawings. I'M the evil tickling fiend!
