Chapter 270: The most beautiful fairy

Time passed quietly as Morgan waited.

Waiting, for Morgan, had long become second nature.

The time was short, and soon the night fell.

Under the moonlight, Promise also woke up.

Rising, he looked up at the night sky, where countless stars adorned the heavens.

The ideal scenario, of course, would be to request the primordial goddess of the night to intervene, veiling the stars and using the night sky as his canvas.

But Promise was no hero of the Age of Gods at this moment.

So, even though he has the highest favor from the Goddess of Night, without an anchor point, even she would have to pay a huge price to provide help to him at this moment.

Aware of this, Promise had no intention of troubling Nyx.

Instead, he turned his attention to the faint presence of Melusine beside him, whol he could sense but not see.

Sensing her expectant gaze urging him to proceed,

Promise smiled, stood up, and looked around before stopping atop a nearby hill.

He lay down again on the hill, and when he looked up, he saw the beautiful sea of stars in the night sky.

"Watch closely,"

Promise spoke softly.

As soon as his voice fell, he fully entered his painting state.

The surrounding noises of the night and all visual distractions faded away.

Even with the interference of the stars, the night sky in Promise’s eyes transformed into the perfect canvas.

He closed his eyes.

In the darkness, the most beautiful scene in his heart began to unfold.

Reaching out toward the night sky, he used his hand as a brush and the star-filled sky as his canvas.

Promise began to draw, showing Melusine and Morgan the ultimate beauty.

As his hand gently moved across the air, in the eyes of Melusine and Morgan, the stars in the sky actually started to connect.

One by one, the stars formed patterns, gradually revealing a scene.

This was the very same scene that the goddess of fate, who gazed toward the future, had once looked up to.

It was also the painting that had once stunned all of ancient Greece during the Age of Gods, envied even by the gods themselves.

At the same time, in the distant future, it was also seen by that young man.

And now, it appeared once again.

The only difference this time is that the protagonist of the painting was no longer the goddess.

It wasn’t any deity at all.

In fact, in Promise’s mind, awakening Melusine was truly simple.

Whether it was Athena, the fate goddess Clotho, the Queen of Heaven Hera, or Moon Artemis, any of them could fulfill Melusine’s requirements for beauty.

Because each of them were beautiful on their own right

However, after reflecting on it again and again, the image that left the deepest impression on Promise was not a goddess.

It was a young girl.

This realization surprised Promise himself.

To be honest, he hadn’t realized until now just how deeply that girl had etched herself into his heart.

As Promise continued to paint, Melusine and Morgan unknowingly became part of the picture.

Promise’s artwork had the ability to draw even true gods into it—so how could they be an exception?

Thus, they saw it.

They saw the night illuminated by lanterns of prayer.

Suspended in the starry sky, with the night and the world as the canvas, the breathtaking scene unfolded before them.

Within this awe-inspiring image, one figure stood out—the silhouette of a girl.

She was kneeling before the moon goddess.

The girl offered the first recorded blessing ever given to a god.

In her eyes, Melusine and Morgan saw her unwavering faith and admiration for the goddess.

In the icy world she lived in, she had survived because of the goddess’s kindness.

In return, she gave her lifelong purity and companionship to the goddess she loved.

In the eyes of the two, the painting captured the gentle glow of the prayer lanterns illuminating the girl’s saintly green eyes.

Fireflies danced through the forest, and prayer lanterns hung high in the sky, filling the world with soft radiance.

Though the girl’s beauty couldn’t compare to the goddesses, under the light of the lanterns, she appeared breathtakingly beautiful.

Yes, she was Atalanta, the ancient Greek huntress.

The woman who had left the deepest footprints on Promise's journey.

The first hero in Promise’s collection of human paintings.

To he honest, he hadn’t expected that this scene would leave such a profound impression on him.

However, he also understood that the reason he chose this particular moment was largely because of Melusine.

Even though the moon goddess Artemis didn’t particularly care about saving Atalanta, and Atalanta’s faith in the moon goddess had wavered over time, that act of salvation had still inspired Atalanta to offer everything she had without reservation or regret.

Just like in Promise’s memories, Melusine had once given her all for the deceitful fairy Aurora.

And so, within this painting, under the moonlight’s glow—

When Promise opened his eyes and stopped his hand—

He saw her.

The strongest and most beautiful Fairy Knight had been born.

Under the illumination of the radiant moonlight, she emerged from the murky black mud and walked toward him, finally sitting down by his side.

Her dazzling golden eyes gazed at the painting Promise had created—the scene that had once been etched into the memories of the world and countless living beings.

At the same time, her gaze shifted toward him, the one who was smiling gently as he looked at her.

“Let’s get to know each other,” Promise said as he stretched out his hand toward her.

“My name is Promise.”

The beautiful Fairy Knight looked at his hand, hesitates for a moment, before slowly reaching out her own.

"And you… your name is Melusine."

Promise gave her the name that originally belonged to her at this moment.

At that moment, Morgan, sitting on her throne two thousand years in the future, looked at the scene in front of her and found herself pondering a question:

In this moment, in Melusine’s eyes… does Aurora still hold a place?

..
.
.
.End

(Sorry the chapter is too short, btw I have so much work to do today so, I cant spare any time.
