NARUTO- CH-107. Don't peek
Added 2024-11-21 02:28:59 +0000 UTCTen minutes later, Shiki nodded.
"Then choose a path."
Shizune pointed to a city on the map and said, "This is our destination, Thunder City."
Shiki swept around.
There were quite a few roads.
Seven routes of travel were marked on the map.
"This one," Shiki said, pointing to the yellow route.
"Why?" Shizune asked curiously. "This one isn't the shortest."
"It passes through the fewest villages," Shiki explained. "The probability of us being discovered is minimal."
"It seems that you already understand the confidentiality of the mission," Shizune said, patting his head.
"Speak nicely and don't touch me," Shiki muttered, taking a half step back. "Shall we set off now?"
"You still have one mission, which is reconnaissance."
Seeing that she couldn't touch him, Shizune regretfully withdrew her hand.
"Reconnaissance?" Shiki asked, a little confused.
"Um." Shizune nodded. "You're a medical ninja, so things like scouting will definitely be left to your teammates, but that's for later."
The main purpose of their trip this time was to train Shiki.
Investigation was also part of it.
Shiki, although he studied medical ninjutsu, as a member of the Aburame clan, he had to raise insects.
In Konoha Village, the Aburame clan's role was auxiliary, especially in reconnaissance.
"I haven't even seen the bugs you keep yet," Shizune said. "Let me see!"
Shiki extended his hand, and three mutated parasitic insects appeared in his palm.
"Is this the parasite of the Aburame clan?" Shizune said, puzzled. "It's different from what I've seen before. It looks more beautiful."
"It is different," Tsunade interrupted. "It's a mutated."
Shiki didn't hide it. "You can understand it as the bloodline limit of the parasite."
"I see." Tsunade was somewhat surprised but not too much. As one of the three great ninjas of Konoha, she naturally knew many secrets.
And since this happened to Shiki, she thought it was normal. After all, she had once believed that no one in the entire ninja world could surpass her in medical talent.
Then a boy named Shiki showed up.
"Let's go."
Tsunade leaped and was already far ahead.
Shizune put away the map, picked up Tonton, and followed her.
On the way, Shiki released all of his parasites—exactly seventy-seven of them.
He raised so many for two reasons: first, because the experiment with Senjutsu Chakra consumed them quickly, and second, so that he could perform the Parasitic Bug Explosion.
If all seventy-seven exploded, even an ordinary jonin wouldn't be able to withstand it.
Of course, the prerequisite was to hit the target.
However, there were so many of them that they could overwhelm the target with sheer firepower.
Not accurate enough? Just expand the range.
Time passed, and the sky gradually darkened.
Maybe it was because nothing had happened along the way in the Fire Nation. Even the bandits who usually robbed people on the road weren't seen.
"Shizune," Tsunade instructed. "Rest here, take Shiki with you, and find a suitable place."
"OK."
Shizune looked at Shiki and asked, "Can you still hold on?"
They had been running all afternoon.
"I'm fine," Shiki calmly shook his head.
The two quickly found an open area and set up a tent.
"Why is there only one tent?" Shiki suddenly noticed the issue.
"Because two targets are too conspicuous and not very safe," Shizune said with a smile. "Besides, there's a sleeping bag. What are you afraid of?"
"I'm not scared, just confused," Shiki replied calmly.
"It's okay. If you're scared, just sleep next to your sister," Shizune teased, her smile widening.
"..." Shiki was speechless. 'Are you stealing from your employer?'
"I'm hungry, go cook," Tsunade interrupted their conversation.
She entered the tent and sat cross-legged on the bed.
It was called a bed, but in reality, it was just a stack of mats spread on the ground, also known as tatami.
Shizune opened a sealed scroll and took out various cooking instruments.
Once again, Shiki felt like they were camping.
"Under normal circumstances, it is not recommended to light a fire and cook during a mission," Shizune said as she worked. "Rice balls or sushi would be convenient and safe."
Shiki looked around and picked up some dry firewood from the ground.
After a while, a fire was lit.
"It's been a long time since I went on a mission," Shizune suddenly sighed.
She had followed Tsunade before, either to the casino or when they were being chased for debt. She had almost forgotten that she was a ninja.
"How are you feeling today?" Shizune asked, looking at Shiki.
"Sister Shizune speaks very well," Shiki said seriously. "I benefited a lot."
"I am a proper Chunin, after all," Shizune replied, enjoying the praise. A bright smile appeared on her face.
Since they were in the wild, dinner wasn't particularly lavish, but it was still satisfying.
After the three of them finished their meal, the fire went out, and darkness enveloped them again.
Only the moon in the sky emitted faint light.
"There's a river not far away. Shizune and I are going to take a bath," Tsunade said, pointing at Shiki. "You set the trap."
Shizune hesitated.
It stood to reason that one should not act so arrogantly during a mission. However, after running all afternoon, she was sweating and felt sticky and uncomfortable.
"Thank you for your help, Shiki," Shizune said anyway, smiling. "Don't peek."
"I won't," Shiki said seriously.
Because if he peeked, Tsunade would definitely find out.
Well, maybe not necessarily.
Shiki thought of his Hidden Scale Gu.
Maybe it would work if he used stealth mode.
Cough! Cough!
Shiki decisively gave up.
Because he was a partner of justice and would not do such things.
After Tsunade and Shizune left, Shiki took out wire and bells and set a trap near the tent as he had been taught in school.
Women were always slower when taking a bath, especially when there were two women together.
After the trap was set, Shiki began his training.
Until a faint fragrance wafted over.
He opened his eyes, and under the hazy moonlight, he saw two pairs of long legs and white feet in front of him.
One was voluptuous, the other was straight.
"You've learned well," Tsunade said, glancing at the traps. "Set up the traps, one after another."
"Okay," Shiki said modestly.
