The Swallow (short comic)
Added 2020-06-29 16:06:34 +0000 UTCLet me show you some sneak peeks of the Swallow, a short comic I worked on HARD in the last three days, which you can read HERE for free! It’s based on Oscar Wilde and his masterpiece the Happy Prince. Let me tell you I got emotional while I was drawing it, because I truly put all of myself in it, and I had so few days to do it! But I did it!! I had to draw it, like I owe him something! The little Swallow has something of Aziraphale for obvious reasons, because I’ve always imagined Aziraphale as a possible Robbie Ross (the person who truly loved Oscar), who in Wilde movie was played by Michael Sheen.
Also this short comic is for a contest, so if you want to leave some feedback I’d be eternally grateful to you! Thank you for reading it and I really hope you’ll appreciate it! I really did it from the bottom of my heart! ❤️

2020-06-30 10:11:51 +0000 UTCRead it all now, on that other site. So beautiful, absolutely beautiful! Very poetic and kinda dreamy too, where dialogue wasn't the main thing. Very symbolic, with the bird and the blue colour that followed Oscar around. In the second part, it looked like little Robbie became the bird.... did the swallow represent him and his love for Oscar? And did the blue colour represent his inspiration?

Wilde knew him, but when Bosie's father left a note at Wilde's club publicly accusing him of "posing" as a "somdomite" [sic], Wilde didn't go to this man-- maybe thinking that he wouldn't believe Wilde when he said it wasn't true. So Wilde sued for libel, lost the case, and was then arrested for the crime of sodomy and sentenced to hard labor for two years. The barrister told him, "If you had come to me with that note, I would have told you to throw it away." If only Wilde had taken the right advice....

2020-06-29 17:01:57 +0000 UTCWow, my heart just broke in two pieces 💔💔💔 I loved this so much though. Oscar Wilde is one of my favorite authors and I hold "The happy prince" dear to my heart. Oscar Wilde had a way with words I never saw before or after and that tale is both sweet and sad. It reminded me of Aziraphale too. You did really well with this comic!
