Hello Adventurers! I’ve got another map for you - this is a cool one! I wanted to create a Middle Eastern-themed palace for a Djinn or Genie, a little different from the standard Halloween maps for October. Maybe it's in a pocket dimension, like a lamp, or it's at the centre of an oasis in the middle of a desert. This should go well with the Bazzar I created earlier this year.
I’ll be working on the Fey Portal for around the end of the month, with the Underdark Tide Pools coming after that.
Fey Portal
I want to create a map with a portal to the fey realm. The portal is likely in a desolate location, but lush, fantastical vegetation and fungus surround it. It should be a great location to fight your way into the Fey or a place to stop something escaping the Fey realm.
Underdark Tide Pools
I love the idea of underground oceans. The edges of these oceans would be ominously dark, with jagged rocks and tidepools of inky black water - a perfect location for an encounter with some bioluminous monstrosity.
Thanks so much for your support. I simply couldn’t continue to work on these maps without your help. Let me know if you have ideas for future maps, and I’ll try to incorporate them into future releases. Have a wonderful week, and as always, happy adventuring! Now, remember, wording is crucial when making wishes. We all saw what happened to Bob. I think having his horse turned into a giant rooster was getting off lightly. We have to be careful, people!

The mists clear, and you find yourselves standing at the bottom of a set of wide stone stairs leading to an entrance of a spectacular palace. Its white marble walls radiate a soft glow, while spires and golden domes rise gracefully toward the sky. Lush gardens grow around the palace walls, crystal-clear water glimmering in pools below the vibrantly green foliage.
An arched gateway leads into a long courtyard with a slender pool running down its length. Plants in large pots line the pool, along with marble benches that look elegant, although uncomfortable. Overhanging roofs shade the sides of the courtyard, held up by ornately carved columns. Several doors lead off from the courtyard on the left and right sides, while at the far end, a large archway leads up another flight of steps.
A huge bed covered in purple silken sheets dominates the room. To the left is a raised area with lounging couches and smoking paraphernalia. Off to the right is an archway leading into a bathing room with a large pool of scented water.
Bars prevent entry to this room, but you can see several pedestals and display cases. On each pedestal is a unique item, a sword, a huge gem, and a scroll, among others. The display cases contain smaller items and oddities. Some seem mundane, others exquisitely unique. The walls are covered in art of every theme and style. An ornate metal chest on a small raised wooden stand sits at the back of the room.
This small library contains an eclectic and magical collection of books and scrolls. When approached, many of the books glow or emit a low hum.
A dining room, themed in dark reds and creams, is lit with crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Along the rear wall is a long table surrounded by cushions and thick carpets. The table is set with silver, gold and dark wood plates filled with pastries and sweetmeats dusted with spices and powdered sugar.
Walking up the stairs, you enter a large white marble hall with a checkered tiled floor. Open arches along the walls let light stream in. In front of each arch is a lounging couch upholstered with richly patterned blue fabrics. In the centre is a pool with petals floating on its surface. At the rear of the hall are stairs leading to a raised platform and a large throne positioned in front of an archway, its occupant silhouetted against the sky beyond.
30x45 Grid Map
The Palace could be part of a larger complex. Use my Desert Bazaar map in combination with this map.
Each room could have some encounter themed around it, or the main encounter could be in the courtyard, with new challenges arriving from the side rooms as the encounter continues.
Magical servants like golems would use the two small rooms on either side of the courtyard.
The palace walls are full of open arches, which would allow things from outside to get inside. Flying creatures or climbing creatures could attack from outside.
The courtyard's centre is open to the sky, and an overhanging roof covers the sides. Each room has a high-domed interior, which could allow flying creatures to move around easily.
The Throne room is separated from the rest of the palace by a small garden and walkway.
The Cursed Palace: Something is very wrong with the palace. None who enter return. A powerful magical curse has been placed on the palace, its courtiers, and the ruler. Each area of the palace can have different challenges. The goal is to reach the ruler and free them. The courtiers have been bewitched and pose different types of threats to the party.
The Gjinn’s Test: Are you worthy to seek the help of the Gjinn? He will test the party by tasking them to collect one item from each of his private rooms. Each room contains a threat that must be overcome. Not all have to be combat, but some certainly will.
When Myths Attack: The ruler of this palace has insulted some mystical enemy, and now they will assault the palace with all the most outrageous monsters you, as the DM, can think of. Pick different creatures to attack from all angles. Try to pick monsters that will have the most fun with different palace areas. For example, Succubi for the bed chamber, and flying monkeys for the dining room. As the attacks continue, it becomes clear they are after something in the treasury/gallery.
Day/Night and Lit for the standard version.
A Desert variant for obvious reasons.
You get a Night and Lit variants of this as well.
I wanted to make a Magical/Pocket Dimension variant, so you get some arcane lightning on this one.
This palace seems like a place that could fit into the Nine Hells, so let's do a Lava variant as well.
