T-Shirt Evolution: Legend of Goku: Gohan's Awakening!

So, like I said before, when developing merchandise that's a parody of another intellectual property, you have to make it transformative. A simple copy/paste isn't going to do the trick!

So, this shirt?

This. Was a process.

The concept was simple enough: Gohan's Awakening is the classic dub title! But how do we make it work for a shirt?

Went through a couple of general ideas, but we ultimately settled on one that worked! BrachyZoid finished it up and we sent it off to Shark Robot!

... only to be told it wouldn't work. Yeah, turns out? You gotta really change the look if you're gonna make it work. So we had to modify the designs!

So we put Gohan in Link's clothing and put Cell in there, modeled after Dethl's shadow forms, and bam! Finished!

... or so we THOUGHT!

They were worried Cell would be a bit too similar to his original design.

So we banged our heads together, and finally, I just thought, "Fuck it. Let's combine Dethl with Cell. Dethl literally changes his form to mimic others, just like Cell can use multiple other characters techniques!"

And finally-- FINALLY-- we had our design!
