BIGBANG MADE : THE MOVIE - Part 3 | Reaction & Commentary

That’s a wrap for MADE: The Movie. What an incredible journey — they really are one in a billion in K-pop. Hopefully, we’ll get more projects like this soon!

BIGBANG MADE : THE MOVIE - Part 3 | Reaction & Commentary

Comments

I love your 3-part reaction to the MADE documentary! So happy that you guys did not judge them harshly on all the shenanigans shown in the video. GD named it MADE because he wanted the play on words for the concert to be 'MADE in Seoul'. I am attaching a google sheet with links to some of Bigbang's variety show appearances with the hope that you may wish to react to some of them. I am sure the VIPs would be only too happy to watch again with you guys! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1O71S3zTnYYPxZv6sdACViSMoQ04_-_LD53Zm5zl--74/edit?gid=0#gid=0

Bigbang members are quite wealthy. Taeyang lived in a $6 million house, but when he had a child, he bought a new one for $11 million. Daesung owns a large office building in Seoul. GD owns a hotel. TOP owns wine cellars and grape fields. According to Forbes Korea, GD was the richest Korean idol until recently. Taeyang and TOP were also in the top 10.

They still work with almost all of the YG staff. They still come to their only hairdresser Taehyun noona. In almost every concert if they dont clash with each others performances, YG dancers are there (even those not in YG anymore). Gee Eun, BB stylist is also GD's partner in Peaceminusone. Its like they left the company but kept the people.

1st encountered bigbang with Haru haru. Saw the mv on arirang tv in 2009(?) Thought it was japanese 😂 cried my emo heart out and at that time lyrics are just not available and googling isnt a thing. In asia we are used to songs we dont understand. English. Japanese. And later on korean songs. We base everything on the melody and the mv i guess

10 years ago I laughed at those scenes — their jokes, their chaos, that “how dare you take photos without me.” it was just so him.. but watching it again now, the same words suddenly feel heavier, warmer, realer — 🥹😭 like a time capsule cracking open in my chest.. a decade later, the laughter is still there.. but now it sits beside tears, and somehow, that makes it even more precious.. for the 20th, I just pray for a stage filled with joy, gratitude, and peace in their hearts.. if five happens, that would be a miracle I’d treasure forever — but even if not, I’ll still stand here, thankful that I got to grow up with them.. I just hope it’s kind, healing, and unforgettable. may all the bitterness stay in yesterday, and only the light remains.. 💛 💛 💛 💛 💛 thank u for this, may God bless ur days 🍀✨

-33:02 That was actually a tattoo of a dragon ball from the Dragon Ball manga series LOL but I think he might have gotten it removed, I don't remember seeing it in GD's recent photoshoots -Daesung does learn the drums! He also did some drum covers in his personal YT channel (D'splay) if you're interested in checking it out haha -All the members are no longer signed to YG (at least as solo artists), the only one who is signed to a YG-affiliated company is Taeyang, under THEBLACKLABEL. There was a recent article about YG "approving" the use of the BIGBANG name to GD, Taeyang and Daesung for Coachella so I'm not sure if that means YG is no longer managing their group activities as well -At this point (2016), Taeyang was already in an publicized relationship with his girlfriend (and wife), VIPs were mostly very chill about it -You might have seen this if you're on Instagram, but TOP changed his display name and profile pic a few days ago (to him in a purple suit and a cane like in BAE BAE) so a lot of us are expecting him to drop something music-related anytime soon... Maybe sometime around his birthday next week, hopefully? (man I'm delusional lmao) -I'm honestly extremely out of touch with new gen k-pop so I don't know how tour documentaries are filmed now, but a reason why I really liked this movie was because it reminded me of a documentary from a jrock band I used to love - like you guys said, it was raw and showed a very realistic side of idols. I know that some people turn to kpop (or any other hobby) as a form of escapism, but it doesn't hurt to also remind ourselves that they are still humans at the end of the day and we shouldn't project our own insecurities and ideals onto them. I've watched this multiple times with different reactors this year, but it always reminds me that I'm just thankful they are all healthy and still active in the industry today. Thank you for the reaction, really loved hearing both of your insights ^^

When everything goes well, Korean worship GD as god, when something goes wrong, Korean treat GD as he is the worst criminal ever existed. Tbh, not in a million years i would wanna experience this man's life even just one day

Actually, kpop back then were more strict than nowadays, GD as the first idol to write and produce his own songs, got attacked by Korean general public seriously, simply because people dont believe there would be genius. Only experienced seniors can write good songs, not a young man, not an idol, everything about GD must be fake- thats what they thought. How can a young man who is only 18 years old write countless songs that can become famous in whole nation. GD was the most hated celebrity back then, even had an anti-fan club where all the people hated him gathering together. People put up numerous posters near YG and places GD usually go, to ask him to suicide in 2009. You can still see lots of those posters in Korea now since there were too many those suicide posters have been put up back then. Even time cannot erase them. They cursed GD's mom to give birth to GD. They wrote petitions to president to ask GD to suicide. I watched kpop since 1995, nowadays the environments that celebrities need to face is actually much better. Back then Korean really would try to kill the idols physically. Lots of cases like that. Nowadays at least its just an online attack. (Not that i mean online attack is a right thing)

Also, I remember during this era, TOP bought a vineyard in Argentina (that later in 2022 he launched his wine brand T'SPOT).

But he actually really cant quit hhhh There used to be a bigbang fan meeting and fans knew GD cannot come due to sickness. They all request to return the money. So he ended up still attending

Ming GAO

Tbh GD has never been absent from even one concert or bigbang activities in his whole life. There must be some days he feel uncomfortable or sick seriously, but he just didnt quit any. There was one time he got into a car crash and hurt his leg before went to stage, but he still finished the performance then went to hospital

They are rich, dont worry. I remember saw some news about Bigbang member buying several buildings like nothing in 2014. And GD is known for being rich, one of the rings he wore in power MV was about 6 million dollars (which is 8.8 billion in KRW, i really think this man buy this ring becuase the price is 88 hhhhhh) Just no one want to lose and they all want others to pay hahaha

DAESUNG took drum lessons, so in the MADE tour, he played drums whenever they sang SOBER (idk if he is still taking lessons now). Also there is a Youtuber called "D'SPLAY" (who is not DAESUNG *wink wink*) who uploads drum covers, etc. -- you should check him out, he's so funny :D Otherwise, I think some of your questions were already answered by other comments. I almost spit my coffee when you said GD's tattoo looks like a pizza hahaha :D

Gds tattoo isn’t a pizza lmaooo it’s a dragon ball I believe

Laayla!!

Yeah, Taeyang’s real name is Dong Young-bae. His stage name “Taeyang” means “sun” in Korean, which is why you’ll sometimes see his fellow members compare him to the sun. Additionally, GD’s real name is Kwon Ji-yong, and his stage name “G-Dragon” comes from his given name “Ji-yong” — “yong” means “dragon” in Korean. As for Daesung, his name means “great success” in Korean. 😎

지후 김

TOP hates showing his skin thats why he didn't takes his clothes off in the pool and why he was so angry at taeyang for recording his video lol
