Besides getting ready for the Daisies launch over the past week( thank you for making it a success, btw!💖) I've been sorting out what I want to do with the latter half of this comic.

Like all of my projects, it's turning out longer than expected, so I'm trying to focus on how to resolve it in a way that is maximumly satisfying without complicating it unnecessarily, or making it still longer.

I tried to just focus on poses and expressions that I would really enjoy drawing. I think that's my main takeaway from working on the Peach x Daisy zine, some of those gestures were just fun to draw.

These two characters have a different kind of physicality than Peach and Daisy. Hero's just kind of a boulder of a man and Pucca's just a squishy little fluff, which is a fun dynamic.

I also like that because Hero's so obviously strong I can put poses together that emphasize or leverage that. Pucca can look almost weightless in his arms and all of her floofs I think will add to that quality in a nice way. There's some fun potential for Hero's body to just be a big, angular stage for Pucca's curls to fall over.

One thing that I'm finding really fun about the pages as drawings is that they can be really focused on shape and texture in a big way.

They're the most obvious staples of drawing, but sometimes I get so focused on describing the volume and dimensionality of the world within the frames I forget that some of what makes drawings a delight to behold is just the arrangement of marks.

I think this idea kinda hit its peak of execution on some of the previous pages by including the little soft blades of grass, or big thick marks for Hero's hair. I've thought about forcing a policy on myself that I must draw certain aspects of the characters with certain brushes, just so I remember to keep using that variety of mark making, but that might just be me getting obsessive about lines.
