Welcome to the Mid-point Twist of the Academy Arc! We're starting to see the "Bad Guys Close In" and unfortunately for our ronin, that means the Fun & Games are over! Expect the stakes to be raised and for a greater sense of urgency throughout the rest of the arc.

For me, this chapter highlights why I like Masami's friends so much and how they interact with each other. There's also a great moment in there where MC gets to experience something we (the player) so often take for granted, and I really enjoy whenever that happens.

It's very common for people to self-insert as the MC in SoH (even though the story is told in first-person perspective) so I never hesitate to introduce moments that keep them honest. Unlike in the vast majority of choicegames, where "You enter the room", here we are playing as a character different than ourselves. But why does that matter?

Consider this example: You have entered your bathroom thousands of times. It's nothing new. But imagine how different the experience would be if you walked in there as Joan of Arc or Alexander the Great, through their eyes, minds, and personalities. It's an entirely different experience, and that allows us to enjoy even the most mundane things in greater depth!

I think roleplaying is like any other skill: it can be trained, some are naturally more inclined to it than others, and it's not always easy to exercise. It's also far more important (and involved) than just making funny voices at the D&D table. Though I'll always appreciate a good Schwarzenegger impression!
