Patreon Ver: Rise Of Bangtan Chapter 13

I hope you can have a self care Sunday with me and just relax as we enjoy some BTS and continue our journey into Rise of Bangtan. It was such an interesting episode as we see some of the harsh realities with being a performer. Jungkook was such a trooper though and I can see just how much ARMY really helped him forget about his sickness at that point and perform for them. I feel like sometimes just having such amazing support around you makes you feel like you can move mountains.

i loveeee to hear your input on these videos!! i totally agree with what you said at the end. jungkook in previous years was always someone that would work to the bone. what happened in this episode would continue in the future because sadly jungkook felt like he had this obligation to put on the best show armys have ever seen…and with doing that he believed that he had to go the hardest he can go. it’s really sad to see because often after the show he would cry saying “he didn’t do well” although armys ALWAYS see how hard he works and how amazing he is :( he is one of the members that is most hard on himself…it could be a little mistake but it will be stuck in his mind however, hobi has told him exactly what you said…that working until you are weak isn’t professional and how it’s better to preserve his energy. nowadays i definitely think he’s gotten better with his self-confidence! in a recent weverse live, jungkook said “who cares if i mess up on a live performance” and just hearing that just shows how much he’s grown because he would’ve never thought that in the past. although, the harsh self-criticism of himself hasn’t completely gone away, i’m just glad to see his confidence grow and he seems to come more in terms with himself and realizes he is a human who can make mistakes as well 💜

thanks for the reaction! I completely agree with what you mention at the end of the chapter. pushing yourself to the point of not being able to breathe and standing up is not the best, however the boys over the years recognized this and there is a clip where hobi comments to jungkook in the sweetest way possible that doing this is unprofessional (I think it was during the love yourself tour). I hope you have a good day/afternoon/night 💜

they explained a bit more in the actual documentary, but yes part of why JK collapsed was the altitude. he thought about it the previous day, but forgot and went to hard because it was their last day in Chile ( and at this time they still thought they might never be able to come back to these countries.) He and Jimin especially go to hard sometimes and the other members (esp JHope) constantly remind them they need to reign it back. I think part of it is where they are dancers and such incredible performers if they give it they're all it's just too much. While you will definately see more sturggles on the rest of this tour no one else will collapse and they do actually force Jimin not to dance for one of the concerts for the sake of his health even though he really wanted to. BTS doctor and older members wouldn't let him and talked him out of it. I worry about them, but also am very greatful all the members care and look out for eachother and have a company that generally looks out for them

It was the change in altitude that affected jungkook. He pushed himself really hard. I think he was OK after that show though

I fully agree with not having to push through sickness or injury and stuff to be considered professional, luckily BTS are very aware of how they shouldn't sacrifice their well-being for their performances but they do seem to ignore their own advice when it comes to that sometimes and fall into the moment, push themselves too far. Even recently during Sugas solo tour, he was pushing through a high fever of 39 degrees. The members did actually tell JK off after the concert in this rise of Bangtan episode about pushing himself, they gave him a lecture on pacing his dancing. BTS does still feel the pressure to be perfect unfortunately so they put such harsh expectations on themselves whether it be simple mistakes like getting the lyrics wrong. Even just the other day Jungkook went live and was scolding himself for a mistake he made during a performance on Sugas tour that nobody noticed until he pointed it out, he was complaining that there was no way we didn't notice, etc. I wish these guys would be less harsh I hate seeing them like that but I feel like it's so hard to switch that mindset that they have been stuck in for the last decade. It is so painful to watch them in behind the scenes when they overwork themselves to the more extreme points :(
