Avowed is absolutely a good game, 20 hours in and I'm thoroughly enjoying myself. It's not trying to re-invent the genre or have the most pixels, it's only concerned with being fun, which it succeeds at more so than pretty much any AAA mass appeal blandfest of late. Also any adventure with Garrus is always welcome in my life.

Didn’t care about the characters enough to get super into the story and it never really felt like my decisions held weight. It was fine but given limited time in the week to sink into a video game I gave it up

2025-03-06 01:39:52 +0000 UTCI just can't get into it. Nothing about the game is making me care what's around the next corner the way other games do. Come to think of it the Outer Worlds was much the same, lots of samey combat and dull characters.

I really enjoyed Avowed and have been extremely confused by the large contingent of gamers who insist that it is actually a very bad game. Glad to see that I am not alone and that people who legitimately enjoy video games can universally agree that Avowed is a good, fun video game.
